[Hibernate] Sql Query

Hi, This is out of line but Please help me.   I have to select all the records that lie between two values. The column is of type String. Would the between clause give me the expected result? I were between clause with column of type integer and date but never have tried with String datatype. A help would be highly appreciated   Thanks regards prasad chandrasekaran
