it would really nice if there was an option to avoid validation, I usually check xml validity with the IDE anyway (you don't need to check it again and again when you're in production, and morevoer a reduced startup time means more productive debugging ;-)
Good point. Personally, I've already turned validation off by your "patch hint"... I was always annoyed by parser output. BTW, (I may be wrong) parser goes out into Internet to find DTD there.
