Ooops, I forgot one:

(6) New approach to composite keys (TODO-113)

This one is up for grabs, by the way; who wants it?

I'm not sure how many betas we will do along the path to a 3.0 release candidate, but I do know what the remaining tasks are:

(1) Finish new query parser (TODO-28)
(2) EJB3-style create() / merge() (TODO-86)
(3) Rationalize fetch strategy configuration (TODO-68, TODO-66)
(4) Minor improvements to native SQL queries (TODO-108, TODO-109)
(5) Merge stuff from blogs into the user manual

We need to discuss (3), so I'll send an email to this list tomorrow sometime describing my thoughts on this.

I am pushing the annotations stuff off of the HB3 feature list, because it will exist as a separate subproject, and is not required for the core to go final.

I'd like to see this stuff done by the end of October, which gives us a month. Anyone see any problem with this? I guess Joshua is the one with the biggest task - what do you think Joshua?
