Hi guys,

For you info, you can activate mail notification on the forum so you will get a notification each time
there is something - and then you click on a link and you are there ,)

I don't want this information.

I just want to use my standard email-client to get access to the user-forum, prefered via nntp, alternatively via mail protocoll.

Personally I would prefer a mail og nntp feed as a complementary feed,

sounds like a solution.

but I've learned
to like the forum as it allow me to log in from anywhere to follow up on things and it remembers
my state + it has much better searching abilities and persistence(!) than nntp/mail will ever get.

evolution of nntp/mail will never happen, if people switch to thos kiddy-forums instead of enhancing the existent protocolls.

The devel is a mailinglist because - well, that's how we like it ,)

sounds a little egoistic.

looks a little like amateurs behaviour.

And I should trust my data to a team which is incapable to provide a consistent communitcation resources?

And the forum provides an easy way for "normal" users to get in touch with the Hibernate community.

Justifications.

where can I find the nntp user forum of hibernate?

There is no such thing,

=> {nntp developer forum available, but no nntp user forum}

This is inconsistent.

a web-based forum is easier for everyone.

=> {rationale: easier for everyone} May I ask: Who defines "easier" and "everyone" in the given rationale?

I guess the team (or the team-lead itself).

This is inappropriate.

And its unprofessional.

Who do you think you are that you force users to use a non-standard access method to your forums?

Even major IT companies provide standard nntp forums (or mailinglists).

Is there an user mailinglist available?

It looks like not.

I will write within "devel", as I refuse to write in this childish html thing (which reminds me those phpbb):

http://forum.hibernate.org/

.
