FYI i've committed the initial callable named query support to Hibernate 3. Note that at the moment only scalar queries and Oracle is working.
Entity queries and MS SQL et.al. support will be added later (I expect soon ,)
I'm committing it now to have the broader grunt work in the cvs (Loader, QueryParameters, etc.)
Entity queries and other dialect supports only require very local changes.
Btw. Oracle has a very suboptimal sucking query parser!
