Hi,

I agree with you concerning the need for this feature. All my latest
development was based on the criteria API, since it seemed quite complete at
the moment I decided to use it. And it actually made its code much simpler,
until I had to change my infra-structure when I realized that outer join is
not performed when createAlias().

I also think that this feature is really needed to make Criteria API more
complete, so please give it a high priority. There is also a bug I noticed
in Criteria API that must be solved (more in another e-mail), but besides
these two points, its feature set was enough for me to develop an extensive
web application.

Best regards,

Rodrigo

My main concern is because people close feature requests instead of
delaying them, we lose all track of the requested change. Then JIRA
voting and other features are disabled too, so we can't really know if a
issue is popular or not. And last but not least, the rejections are
based on personal motivations (or just lack of interest) instead of
valid technical reasons (which should be commented in JIRA for other
people to see and to avoid dupes).

So important features get ignored very easily. The mailing list is
usually a worse option, since people tend to ignore "naggers" just
because they ask for a reason of a rejection. I'll probably patch myself
the source, but I'd rather see it in the main codebase for other people
to benefit from it (and to get some feedback).
