Hi all,

I am a PhD student at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. As part of my
research I have performed an empirical study on a large corpus of open-source
Java software. If you are a developer of Hibernate you might be interested to
know that there are 618 source files all involved in one big dependency cycle
(or to use the graph theory term, strongly connected component).

In any case, a comparison in terms of compilation dependencies between
Hibernate and all the other applications in the corpus (e.g. Eclipse, Netbeans,
Azureus, ArgoUML, Ant, POI, Tomcat, Spring, and many, many more) is available
on my webpage. Also available an explanation of the results and the tool I used
to
collect the data.
