America No. 1?

No. In most important categories we're not even in the Top 10 anymore. Not
even close.

The United States is 49th in the world in literacy (the New York Times,
Dec. 12, 2004).
The United States ranked 28th out of 40 countries in mathematical literacy
(NYT, Dec. 12, 2004).

The USA is "No. 1" in nothing but weaponry, consumer spending, debt, and
delusion.

Some Thoughts on the Middle East and America: 33 Things You Should Think About

What right has President Bush or Conde Rice to dictate to the Lebanese
Government?
Why is it that the demonstrators in Beirut, Lebanon, had all their signs
in English?

Have you considered that they were playing to the American TV audience? In
fact, the big crowds the American media spoke about were less than 3000
people, but the cameras shot the crowed for maximum effect.

Neoconservatives push internment for American Muslims

Daniel Pipes--described by Law Professor Paul Campos of the University of
Colorado as a well-known neoconservative intellectual--wrote in his daily
column in the New York Sun on Dec. 28, 2004, that yes, I do support the
internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Mr. Pipes continued:
given what was known and not known at the time, the U.S. government made

The Zionist Empire Is Sacrificing Its American Colony

I get a lot of emails trying to claim that it is America that uses Israel
as its puppet. I want otput that theory in the trash where it belongs right
now with one simple question. If America was the master and Israel the
puppet, then why didn't we see Israeli kids on those front lines in Iraq?
It is the puppet whose children are sacrificed.

Holocaust Survivor Memoir Exposed As Total Fraud

Jewish groups and major American newspapers have warmly praised Fragments.
The New York Times called it "stunning," and the Los Angeles Times lauded
it as a "classic first-hand account of the Holocaust." It received the 1996
National Jewish Book Award for Autobiography and Memoir, while in Britain
it was awarded the Jewish Quarterly Literary Prize, and in France the Prix
Memoire de la Shoah.
The US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC -- a federal government
agency -- was so impressed that it sent Wilkomirski on a six-city United
States fund-raising tour last fall.

This past summer, though, compelling evidence came to light exposing
Wilkomirski's memoir as an literary hoax.

THE LAW OF POWER, NOT THE POWER OF LAW

Malcom Lagauche, March 3-4, 2005

Lets go back to 1946. An International War Crimes Tribunal had just been
established in Nuremberg, Germany, to punish the aggressors who began a
war. Now, when you open the door to the courtroom, you see Hermann Goering
as the judge. Standing under Goering is the lead prosecutor, Julius
Streicher. His material witnesses include Hess, Geobbels and Himler.

The Real Story of the Insurgency

03/03/2005 by Ari Berman

At a testy hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee on February
16, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld refused to say how many insurgents
are operating in Iraq. "I am not going to give you a number for it because
it's not my job to do intelligent (sic) work," Rumsfeld replied. A little
later, Rumsfeld claimed that the two most recent assessments of the
insurgency provided by the CIA and DIA were classified and couldn't be
disclosed. "Frankly, I don't have a lot of confidence in any of them," he
said.

5,000 YEARS OF CULTURE STOLEN FROM BAGHDAD

Malcom Lagauche

March 1-2, 2005 Today, I was looking at some photos a friend of mine gave
me of Baghdad in the late 1990s. Evidence of destruction by U.S. forces and
degradation of the city because of the illegal embargo placed on Iraq were
present, yet the city was still magnificent. Today, Baghdad resembles
nothing of the city I saw in the photos. It is a destroyed city in which
U.S. profiteers and mercenaries have set up a security area called "The
Green Zone" where they can safely hide while reaping the benefits of murder
and looting. Last April, I ran the following column, but it still is
relevant today.
