Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) will be organizing a competition for academic writing on Islamic political science. The competition aims to encourage and honour active participation of scholars in providing academic and critical views in their researches and writings on contemporary Islamic political science. IKIM is offering attractive prizes for the winners: First Prize *RM 7000.00* Second Prize *RM 5000.00* Third Prize *RM 3000.00* Fourth Prize *RM 2000.00* 5 Consolation Prizes *RM 1000.00* Competition Guidelines i. Entries must be intended for this competition only. Articles should be original, unpublished works of the writer, and have not been accepted for publication or submitted elsewhere, ii. Entries cannot be printed and published elsewhere prior to the result of the competition. The winning articles will become the property of IKIM, which has the right to publish them, iii. An article must not exceed 10,000 words (excluding footnote/endnote, illustrations etc), typed on one side of the paper, double-spaced using 12 Times New Roman font, iv. Entrants are free to choose any topic in the field of Islamic political science as long as it touches the conceptual, theoretical, philosophical, historical, comparative and contemporary application of the subject matter. Articles can be written in English or Malay, v. Entries are open to Malaysians and non-Malaysians residing in this country. Articles can be written individually or collectively by not more than two persons. Decisions by Panel of Judges are final. vi. The closing date of the competition is on 31st August 2005. Entries submitted should include entry form, fully printed article (hard copy) on A4 paper, and its soft copy on a 3.5" floppy diskette in Microsoft Word format, v.
