Dari Abi Sa'id Al-Kudri, Rasulullah saw bersabda, "Kalau orang beriman itu telah bebas dari neraka, mereka ditahan di jambatan antara syurga dan neraka, lalu mereka akan saling membalas penganiayaan antara mereka sewaktu di dunia. Setelah mereka dibersihkan dan disucikan, barulah mereka diizinkan untuk memasuki syurga. Demi Allah yang diri Muhammad ditanganNya, mereka lebih tahu tempatnya di syurga daripada di neraka."

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
Allah's Apostle said, "The believers, after being saved from the (Hell) Fire, will be stopped at a bridge between Paradise and Hell and mutual retaliation will be established among them regarding wrongs they have committed in the world against one another. After they are cleansed and purified (through the retaliation), they will be admitted into Paradise; and by Him in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, everyone of them will know his dwelling in Paradise better than he knew his dwelling in this world."

Dari Aisyah ra, katanya sebahagian isteri Nabi saw bertanya kepada baginda "Siapakah di antara kami yang lebih dahulu bertemu dengan tuan?" Jawab nabi, "Siapa ang lebih panjang tangan." Lantas mereka ambil sepotong ranting lalu mereka ukur tangan mereka. Ternyata Saodah lebih panjang. Barulah kemudian mereka ketahui, bahawa yang dimaksudkan Nabi tangan panjang, ialah tangan yang banyak bersedekah. Itulah isteri baginda yang paling dahulu bertemu baginda di akhirat nanti, dia sangat suka bersedekah.
