i was a pr for Seremban two sdn bhd in 1996 and that year we launched the low cost housing which is a part of the township. For the launching event, we invited the then, DPM who was none other than DSAI. Thus, before the event, I had asked his PA (Azmin Ali)of favourite questions he might ask the bosses during the event and I was informed by Azmin that the first question DSAI would asked would be "where is the Mesjid/Surau" for that area and the township. Mind you, Seremban 2 is owned by road builders malaysia which is a non-bumi company. With the hint from Azmin, the developer had worked on the mesjid and surau for the township as their preparations for the event. My point is, if the leader is respected by other races, other religions, his concerns will always be taken seriously. This is not just hearsay, this is from my own experience. Thanks, Nur p/s: Oh! BTW, last week, DSAI was in Cheras, at one of the DBKL flats near Maluri, near Bandar Tun Razak, nearby where I stay. I was pleased that DSAI humbled himself to come to such venue but what i was not pleased with was, the act of the youths celebrating the visit. They were making noises on their bikes and obstructing traffics near the flats and caused a lot of inconveniences to motorists and passersby. I suppose, it's ok to be excited when receiving a great leader, but we must also be aware that, what we do is always under the scrutiny of the oppositions and their supporters, why give them room to criticize us with our bad behaviour. I hope in the future, those in the organizing committee will address this issue and have a better reception activities. i'd like to apologize if i said anything wrong above. Thanks again, Nur. Saya bersetuju dengan apa yg dikatakan oleh Cik Norjannah. Macam opis saya ni......bertingkat2.....tp surau hanya muat utk 4 orang je....itu pun sempit yg teramat. Surau kat KLCC pun sama, saya pernah solat Maghrib di sana. Betul mcm apa yg Cik Norjannah cakap.....oopppsss...tulis. Bangunan punya besar, punya tinggi....punya gah...Tp nak solat...kena Q......bukannya ramai. Tak sampai pun 50 orang pada satu2 masa.... Cuma saya tertarik dengan pihak pengurusan Celcom yg dulu (semasa di Menara TR, Jln Ampang)......surau yg disediakan oleh pihak pengurusan Celcom masa tu memang selesa. Kalau utk jemaah seramai 60 orang (lelaki sahaja, sbb saya tak tau berapa luas surau perempuan tp saya rasa tak kurang selesanya) rasanya anytime dan ianya masih kekal sampai sekarang. Alhamdulillah. Kalau kita pergi tempat2 pelancongan atau paling senang shopping complex, berapa kerat jer diantara shopping complex ni yang memiliki surau yang selesa dengan kemudahan tandas (yg hampir dgn surau) telekong, sejadah, kitab malah ruang solat juga memainkan peranan. KLCC shopping complex yang besar tu hanya ada surau kecil yang apabila tiba waktu maghrib, penuh sesak sampai kena beratur menunggu giliran untuk ambil air sembahyang & solat. Sangat menyedihkan. Bukankah KLCC tu under Petronas??? Sepatutnya Malaysia sebagai negara Islam harus menitik beratkan kepentingan umat islam khususnya bukan hanya bangsa melayu. Saya dapati banyak company di negara ini yang mana dipelopor oleh bukan islam majoritinya langsung tidak mengambil kira solat itu penting maka surau itu juga penting. Saya banyak mendengar cerita daripada kengkawan berkenaan syarikat yang tidak menyediakan surau malah ada yang menghalang staff mereka untuk mengenakan tudung. Di Istana hotel, sorang member in pergi apply post HR Executive disana dan alhamdulillah diterima tetapi syarat untuk beliau bekerja ialah menanggalkan tudungnya. Saya tak pasti sama ada ia benar atau tidak tapi itulah cerita yang sidengari. Satu lagi di Samsung Senawang, pekerja lelaki dihalang dari pergi menunaikan solat Jumaat. Inin benar2 berlaku tapi alhamdulillah setelah rundingan demi rundingan antara staff dengan management sana kini mereka diberikan kebenaran tersebut. malah ada suatu ketika semasa saya bekerja di Port Kelang ada satu company ini yang saya dengar menghalang management mereka untuk rekruit pekerja melayu (islam) kerana mereka tidak mahu staff mereka buang masa pergi solat. Even hotel juga begitu. Ada hotel yang mnyediakan surau yang baik ,cth seperti Hotel Crone Plaza, Sheraton Imperial tapi ada juga yang langsung tidak menyediakan fasiliti ini cth Grand Season. Apa yang saya ingin tekankan disini hanya satu iaitu kemudahan untuk solat bagi kita umat islam di Malaysia kerana bukankah Malaysia ini negara Islam. Mungkin ada diantara cerita saya ini kurang jelas oleh kerana fakta yang saya juga tidak beberapa mengetahui melainkan sekiranya dialami sendiri. Saya highlight perkara ini kerana saya gemar berjalan-jalan tetapi tidak bermakna solat itu diabaikan. Saya rasa pemimpin kita yang mengaku islam itu patut menitik beratkan banyak perkara dan solat serta tempat solat itu adalah salah satu perkara tersebut.
