Subject: Bismillah [hidayahnet] Ramadan Diet

Ramadan Diet

Asalamu alaikum,

Many of you have requested this from me, and I am sharing it with you. This diet consists of a popular diet, being modified to fit the daily meal times and restrictions of Ramadan. It is very important that you stick with the diet for the whole month. You must eat EVERYTHING listed on the plan when it is listed. The only options are Tea/Coffee and Sugar Free desserts listed. Those are the only options. Sugar Free Cranberry Juice is NOT an option. It is very important that you consume the Sugar Free Cranberry Juice.

The first couple of days you will feel a bit tired, as your body is shocked in to the state of no sugar or starch. After the third day, your energy should increase, and you will start to drop pounds easily. It is a great way to cleanse your system, lose weight during the holy month, and become healthier. If you can squeeze in a 30 minute casual or brisk walk in the evening before you go to bed, please do so. It will only help you lose more efficiently.

Please note that week three and four have bread and fruit incorporated in to the diet. This is to get your body back in to processing starches and sugars. Condiments are okay, try to limit ketchup, mayo, mustard, etc. to only 1/2-1 teaspoon when you do wish to have it. They contain sugars and startches which disrupt the balance in the body. Please note that if you are allergic to nuts, use fat free cream cheese instead of peanut butter, and subsitute 1 string cheese instead of the almonds.

When Ramadan is over, continue with Week Three and Week Four program five days a week, giving your self two days a week free. You just have to consume every food on the list before you go to bed. It does not matter when if you are eating every two hours, or three meals a day.  You will notice that when you are on the two days free, you will not have the urge for much sweets or high fat foods. Your tastes will change, Inshallah. Also, free days would be special occasion days like Eid, Vacations, Weddings, Parties, etc.

If you are not already taking a multi-vitamin daily, please do so. It is important that your body is absorbing vital vitamins and minerals in order for you to be at optimal health. Note that just because you are consuming all the vitamins your body needs through the foods you eat, does not mean that your body absorbs it sufficiently. Processed foods usually block the absorption of vitamins and minerals. So, take one multi-vitamin a day that is high in calcium, iron, and minerals.

Enjoy!!! May Allah(SWT) bless you this Ramadan with the best of Iman, health, and a great physique…AMEEN!!!

With love and duas,
