4. Muslim Students say 'wake up Tony Blair!' - Muslim Student Survey released

'Muslim Student Survey - The Voice of Muslim Students' was published by the Federation of Student Islamic
Societies (FOSIS) on Wednesday, 21 September, 2005.

The Report details the Federation's findings through their research on Muslim students and its
recommendations for establishing a meaningful dialogue on the future of British Muslims in the UK - their
responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities.

In its report, the Federation responds to the clearly expressed desire of young Muslims to find meaningful
ways of contributing to their communities. It addresses current inconsistencies and weaknesses in
communication and provision, which prevent the full potential of Muslim students from being realised, as
well as identifying ways to engage more Muslim students through recognising and addressing the barriers
to participation and integration. Additionally, the Federation proposes measures to significantly improve the
relationship and understanding between Muslim students, the Government, University bodies and wider society.
