The right to rule ourselves
Faced with US torture, killing and collective punishment of civilians, support for the Iraqi resistance is growing
The photograph of an elderly Iraqi carrying the burned body of a child at Falluja, widely shown during the chemical weapons controversy of recent days, is almost a copy of an earlier one that Iraqis remember - from Halabja in March 1988. Both children were victims of chemical weapons: the first killed by a dictator who had no respect for democracy and human rights, the second by US troops, assisted by the British, carrying the colourful banner of those principles while sprinkling Iraqis with white phosphorus and depleted uranium.

Al-Qaeda the Database Unbound
In a lengthy excerpt posted on Wayne Madsens site, Pierre-Henry Bunel, a former agent for French military intelligence, explains the origins of the word al-Qaeda. As previously noted by British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook, al-Qaeda has nothing to do with a terrorist organization, as the neocons and the corporate media tell us over and over, ad infinitum, but is in fact a database.
Files associated to the database were called Q eidat il-Maaloomaat and Q eidat i-Taaleemaat in Arabic. Those two files were kept in one file called in Arabic Q eidat ilmutiaat which is the exact translation of the English word database. But the Arabs commonly used the short word Al Qaida which is the Arabic word for base.

The betrayed mothers of America
I sit between the two women and remember the blood splashed across the road at Khan Dari and the 82nd Airborne washing away the brains from the highway in central Fallujah and the body lying beneath a tarp in north Baghdad. I've seen the American corpses. Now here are the American mothers.

Vegetarians Between Meals
This War Cannot Be Stopped By a Loyal Opposition
The refrain of the Democrats about being misled into supporting the invasion of Iraq has become really tired. And someone other than the White House smearmongers needs to say it: The Democrats cannot be allowed to use faulty intelligence as a crutch to hold up their unforgivable support for the Iraq invasion.

Bush, in Asia, Vows To Keep U.S. in Iraq
Facing a backlash on Iraq at home and abroad, President Bush was planning to declare Saturday that an early withdrawal would be "a recipe for disaster" and to vow to stay in the war until "we have completed our mission."
What mission? WMDs? Never there.
9-11? Iraq had nothing to do with it.
Al Qaeda? Iraq was their enemy.
Cheap oil? The pump prices disprove that.
Israel?
