National Council of Arab Americans (NCA) Action Alert: Racist Article In College Textbook
In a widely used college textbook published by McGraw-Hill, an article titled "The Great War on Militant Islam" includes racist references to Arabs, Muslims and Palestinians. See an excerpt below.
"Christianity and Judaism in particular - regard themselves, like Islam regards itself, as a final, divinely revealed truth. Yes, they too proselytize, and they have their occasional religiously motivated murderers. But those are aberrational and instantly condemned by the rest of the faithful. On the Planet Earth today, only Islam sports an unbridled faction that systematically inculcates hatred, systematically dehumanizes non-adherents, and systematically kills massively and indiscriminately." On Criticizing The Prophet's Companions
Recently Monjiah Al-Sawahi, a Tunisian university professor, made disparaging remarks against Omar bin Al-Khattab, companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), saying "he was the archenemy of women."
Muslims must know that it is not permitted to criticize the companions of the prophet (PBUH) in any way. That Prophet (PBUH) said: "Do not slander my Companions, for if one of you were to spend an amount of gold equivalent to the size of Mount 'Uhud, you would not even come halfway up to their level." The Quiet Death Of Freedom
Bush has carried out the recommendations of a Messianic conspiracy theory called the "Project for a New American Century". Written by his ideological sponsors shortly before he came to power, it foresaw his administration as a military dictatorship behind a democratic façade: "the cavalry on a new American frontier" guided by a blend of paranoia and megalomania.

A Cult of Presidential Power
The Unrestrained President
While much has been made of feverish Christian fundamentalist support for the President, the real religious fervor in this administration has been almost singularly focused on the quite un-Christian attribute of total earthly power.

The Army of Good Americans
One day, in the not too distant future, in the middle of the night, a knock will come at their door, it being not a dream nor a fantasy, its noise an ominous reminder of the police state now upon America, coming to serve power on those who thought they had nothing to fear by sacrificing liberty and freedom for so-called security.

Did Bush wiretap CNN's Christiane Amanpour?
New York Times reporter James Risen first broke the story two weeks ago that the National Security Agency began spying on domestic communications soon after 9/11. In a new book out Tuesday, "State of War," he says it was a lot bigger than that.

Congress is partly to blame for Bush's warrantless wiretaps
Congress is in an uproar over the Bush administration's use of warrantless wiretaps in the United States against American citizens. And well it might be. But to find the culprit, Congress has only to look in a mirror. The sad truth is that Congress does not want to exercise effective oversight of intelligence activities.

NSA Destroyed Evidence of Domestic Spying
The National Security Agency, the top-secret spy shop that has been secretly eavesdropping on Americans under a plan authorized by President Bush four years ago, destroyed the names of thousands of Americans and US companies it collected on its own volition following 9/11, because the agency feared it would be taken to task by lawmakers for conducting unlawful surveillance on United States citizens without authorization from a court, according to a little known report published in October 2001 and intelligence officials familiar with the NSA's operations.
