As the Muslim world erupts over the blatant act of ridicule and blasphemy by European newspapers against the Prophet (pbuh), Islamic history scholar Abu Haitham Al-Hijazee turns to the times past for answers and weighs in on this latest attack on Islam.

The following story has been recorded by the Islamic Scholar and Historian Ebn Hajar Al-Asqalani in his book: The Precious Jewels (Vol. 3, page 202).
Holako, the Tyrant Mongolian leader who invaded Baghdad and killed thousands of scholars and scientists in the year 1258 (675 A.H.), has paved the way for cross worshipers missionaries to preach Christianity and convert Muslims openly. Holako himself was married to a cross worshiper woman.
One day, a delegation of the most notable cross worshipers headed for Baghdad to attend a grand party to celebrate the conversion of a key Mongolian leader to Christianity. The Mongolian leader had his favored hunting dog on a leash nearby. One of the cross worshipers began a speech by congratulating the Mongolian leader on his wise decision, then proceeded to revile the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The dog started to act violently and jumped on the cross worshiper and scratched him badly. It took several men to make the dog let go of the cross worshiper. One of the attendees tuned to the cross worshiper and said: The dog did this because of what you said about Muhammad, peace be upon him. The cross worshiper brushed aside the mans comment and arrogantly said: No. That was not the reason for the dogs reaction. When I was speaking, I pointed with my hand, and the dog thought that I was going to hit him. The cross worshiper appeared unmoved by the incident and continued to revile and insult the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. At that time the dog cut himself loose, jumped on the cross worshipers, sank his molars in the cross worshipers neck and snatched his throat out. The man died immediately. This incident caused 40,000 Mongolian to embrace Islam.
Reviling and insulting Allah or His messenger is very serious offense that carries the death penalty. If such offense is committed by a Muslim, he becomes an apostate because of it and his blood becomes lawful immediately and no apology or repentance is accepted from him. The verdict of Allah is very clear.
The prophet (peace be upon him) has implemented the verdict of Allah at least three times.
1. A Jew by the name Kab Ebn Al-Ashraf committed the crime and thought he would get away with it. One day the messenger of Allah asked for a volunteer to kill Kab and looked at his companion and said: Kab has insulted Allah and His messenger, who gets me his head? Muhammad Ebn Maslamah answered the messenger of Allah by saying: I am for it, O messenger of Allah. The interesting thing is Muhammad Ebn Maslamah was Kab foster brother but Islam recognize brotherhood in Iman (faith) only. Ebn Salamah left the same day and came back to deliver the good news to the prophet, peace be upon him. The prophet smiled and said to him: you have become a helper to Allah and His messenger
2. Ebn Khatl and his female servants: Ebn Khatl had two female servants who used to entertain him by singing songs that contain words of insult to the messenger of Allah. The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, ordered Ebn Akhtal and the two women killed. At that time the prophet had already giving the people of Makkah his word to save them from harm if they go into the house of Abu Sufian or a number of other designated places. So to make his intention to have Ebn Khatl killed clear, he instructed those who were assigned the job to kill him even if they see him hanging by the curtains of Al-Kaabah (the sacred house of Allah). Ordinarily, no killing is to take place in the sacred house of Allah, but because the crime of reviling Allah and or His messenger is so serious, such rule (the rule of no killing in Kaabah) is set aside.
3. Ahsmaa Bent Marawan: A woman poet who used her talent as a poet to revile the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. One after noon, the prophet, peace be upon him gathered his companions and said: I have been insulted by this woman, Bent (daughter of) Marawan. Who is willing to make me whole? A companion by the name Umair Ebn Adey said: I will do it, O messenger of Allah!
Umair left at night and killed the woman. He waited until the next morning and went to see the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. When the messenger of Allah heard the news he smiled and said to Umair: You have come to the aid of Allah and his messenger. Umair wanted to be sure that killing those women was not going to get him in any kind of trouble, so he asked the prophet: O messenger of Allah! Do I need to worry about anything? The prophet said: No two goats will get into a headlong over this
O you Muslims! Do dogs have more love for Allah than you?
O you Muslims! The verdict of Allah for anyone who revile His messenger is very clear.
O Muslims in Denmark, France, Jordan, Egypt, and any and all countries and cities in which your prophet has been insulted and reviled! Rise up all at once and defend your Prophet, peace be upon him.
Forget demonstrations.
Forget products boycotting.
Forget burning Embassies.
Go for the verdict of Allah.
Do you know who was insulted? It is the messenger of Allah, the most honored human being to walk the face of the earth. The one that Allah sent with mercy to all creation.
The one who brought you the guidance that will save you from Hell Fire.
The one who will be waiting to greet you at the doors of paradise.
The one who is ready and willing to intercede on your behalf and bleed your case before Allah.
Ask yourself, does he deserve the kind of insult he is getting now? What are you waiting for?
Do not wait for Muslim rulers. They are all apostates and hell fire is waiting for them. They are worse and more deviant than Christians and Jews.
Do not wait for The Azhar Sheikh. He has sold his religion to Mubarak, may Allah disgrace both of them in this life and in the hereafter.
Do not wait for Islamic scholars. All righteous scholars have been jailed, killed, or chased out of their homes. The ones that are living freely learned how to custom make fatwas to fit their masters.
It is you and only you who must rise up to the occasion and do something about it. The verdict of Allah, the verdict of Allah, the verdict of Allah.
Allah the most high said:
{O you who believe! Be you helpers (in the Cause) of Allah as said 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), to AlHawariun (the disciples): "Who are my helpers (in the Cause) of Allah?" AlHawarieen (the disciples) said: "We are Allah's helpers" (i.e. we will strive in His Cause!). Then a group of the Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, and they became the uppermost.}61:14
Those who answered the call to be helpers of Allah and Jesus were declared believers by Allah. Those who declined the invitation were declared unbelievers.
Now to which party do you want to belong?
