Spanish court throws out 9/11 conviction

Spain‘s Supreme Court on Thursday threw out an al-Qaida suspect‘s conviction for conspiracy to commit murder in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, weeks after prosecutors acknowledged the evidence against him was weak.

Another frame-up craters.

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information." -- US official quoted in Carl Cameron's Fox News report on the Israeli spy ring and its connections to 9-11.

9/11: Questions after raid pair release

Brothers Abul Koyair, 20, and Mohammed Abdul Kahar, 23, who was shot in the raid, were freed without charge.

It wold be nice if the British police saved everyone a lot of time and just admitted they screwed up, instead of trying to drag out this totally pointless "continuing investigation".

9/11: Bush and Blair are Responsible for 3 Guantanamo Deaths

London, UK , June 10, 2006: The responsibility for the deaths of three detainees at Guantanamo Bay rests with Bush and Blair who have colluded in detaining over 400 prisoners without trial, charge or legal representation. During their detention many have reported being humiliated, shackled, gagged, blindfolded and tortured.

Zarqawi's end is not a famous victory

So, it's another "mission accomplished". The man immortalised by the Americans as the most dangerous terrorist since the last most dangerous terrorist, is killed - by the Americans. A Jordanian corner-boy who could not even lock and load a machine gun is blown up by the US Air Force - and Messrs Bush and Blair see fit to boast of his demise. To this have our leaders descended. And how short are our memories.

Women's clothing found in Zarqawi house

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was accompanied by women who wore skimpy night clothing, and read magazines on current affairs and militant propaganda, an inspection of the house he was killed in showed on Saturday.

Between that and the tattoos, this man does not sound like a fanatical Muslim, does he?

Iraqi raises questions on al-Zarqawi death

Iraq - U.S. officials have altered their account of the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, saying he was alive and partly conscious after bombs destroyed his hideout, and an Iraqi man raised fresh questions Saturday about the events surrounding the end of Iraq's most-wanted militant. ADVERTISEMENT

The man, who lived near the scene of the bombing, claimed in an interview with AP Television News to have seen U.S. soldiers beating an injured man resembling al-Zarqawi until blood flowed from the man's nose.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060610/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_al_zarqawi

Now then, ask yourself this. If the man they caught was the real Zarqawi, and they caught him alive, WHY WOULD THE US FORCES KILL HIM?

Or is it more likely that the man passed off as Zarqawi for the last several months was a phony, and had to be killed rather than risk exposure during interrogation?

Associate Publisher: Public interest in news topics beyond control of mainstream media

In terms of bad news judgment, this could turn out to be the 2006 equivalent of the infamous "Downing Street memo," the London Times story that was initially greeted by the U.S. media with a collective yawn.

"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have." -- Richard Salent, Former President CBS News.

The above quote is an admission that the mainstream media network news has not been reporting the news, but choosing for the public what they will be thinking and talking about. This is, by any reasonable definition of the phrase, "mind control", controlling the brain by controlling what it knows and what it is told is important.

But with the advent of the blogs, the mainstream media has lost the ability to decide for Americans what they will be interested in.

Mother wants Blair to answer for loss of son

It would be an "unwarranted shift of power" for the courts to make pronouncements on the Government's right to go to war, three of the country's top judges were told yesterday.

This was the Prime Minister's response to a bid by the families of British soldiers killed in Iraq to force him to hold a public inquiry into why Britain entered the conflict.

Begging for a Response - Israel’s ongoing air strikes on Gaza are politically motivated

The Israelis are a stiff necked people.  They refuse to accept anything less than full acquiescence by anyone involved in their plans, no matter the cost -- human, political, financial, or otherwise.  Israel’s non-stop aggression against Palestinians averaging two Palestinian deaths a day for several years now is much more than what is popularly being coined in Israel and abroad as low-intensity warfare.  If international and humanitarian laws are to be used as a measure, the ongoing Israeli killing spree is taking on the shape of a sustained campaign of war crimes aimed to remove the Palestinians from Israel’s way.

Serious Escalation in Israeli Attacks

14 Palestinians killed in past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip.  Death toll included 2 parents, 5 of their children and 2 brothers.  36 also injured.

Over the past 24 hours, the Gaza Strip was the target of a deadly escalation in Israeli attacks.  Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) committed a number of war crimes in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of fourteen Palestinians and the injury of thirty-six others, including thirteen children.  The most severe and inhumane of these crimes was the killing of seven members of the same family (father, mother and five children), who had been enjoying a day on the beach to the west of the town of Beit Lahya.  The family was hit by artillery fired from an Israeli naval boat.  The seven other victims were killed in extra-judicial execution operations.  Three of the victims of these executions were civilians and the other four were activists.  Four other activists were injured in failed extra-judicial execution attempts.

Bush to Hu: No Pyongyang Trip for Hill

Chinese President Hu Jintao asked U.S. President Bush to let U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill visit North Korea, but was rejected, according to a Kyodo News source from Beijing on June 9.

Through a telephone conversation with President Bush on June 1, the Chinese leader made a request that the U.S. “take into consideration” North Korea’s invitation to Hill for a visit to Pyongyang, reported Kyodo News.

Leave it to this administration to absolutely quash any possible diplomatic solution when it comes to North Korea. This bunch has all the diplomatic finesse of a Bradley tank.

Russian Ministry shocked by U.S. comments on Russia's position on Iran

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Saturday it was shocked by comments from the United States ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, who accused the Russian leadership of being split over the Iranian nuclear issue.

One has to wonder if Bolton has any kids who would be on the front lines in Iraq if Iran were to be attacked, and Russia came to the aid of Iran militarily.

I would bet that the answer would be a resounding 'no'.

Fall of Mogadishu leaves US policy in ruins

It was a rout. After months of fighting that left hundreds dead Mogadishu fell suddenly this week: pick-up trucks with mounted machine-guns and young warriors scrambled to leave the city.

The victors broadcast a triumphant announcement that the warlords had been ousted. In their place a relatively disciplined militia promised order and security after 15 years of mayhem. At a victory rally a militia leader, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, made another promise: to create an Islamic state.

The Columbine Massacre Unravels

Columbine has never made any sense. On a close examination of eyewitnesses, and events, one can easily see that there were at least seven people involved, and maybe a third shooter.

Basically, there were 100 bombs found that day, and Klebold and Harris didnt' bring them in alone. And the fact that an eyewitness said he saw two cars, with seven kids, at the school early that morning confirms there were accessories to the massacre.

There was a third shooter identified to the police, who was strangely released without being booked.

State Democrats call for Bush impeachment

The New Hampshire Democratic Party has joined nine other states in officially calling for the impeachment of President Bush.

Delegates to the party's annual convention voted overwhelmingly Saturday in favor of resolutions both censuring Bush and impeaching him because he "has committed high crimes and misdemeanors as he has repeatedly and intentionally violated the United States Constitution and other laws of the United States."

Bush lied to Congress and the people of this country to start his war in Iraq. That alone is sufficient for removal from office.
