A good friend of mine who happens to wear a hijab was in the OC Transpo bus last Friday on her way home when a lady beside her tried to take it off her. My friend asked her to stop, and the lady said she didn't like hijabs, adding that if my friend did not take it off, she should move elsewhere on the bus. When my friend pointed out that no other seats were available, and that perhaps the woman should move herself, the woman told my friend to go and stand up on the back of the bus, away from her.
Now, I write this to express my anger at this narrow-minded woman, blatantly promoting hate and racism.

Bail hearing put off in mosque attack case
A bail hearing for a man accused of attacking an imam outside a Montreal mosque Saturday has been put off until Tuesday. Pierre Braband, 34, faces one count of uttering death threats, one of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and two counts of assault with a weapon or threatening assault with a weapon.
He appeared in Montreal court Saturday and pleaded not guilty to all four counts.
