America :  Fascists and Power - A Quick Follow Up On Fascists and Power

A few thoughts relating to my article(follows the following) from yesterday. Karl Rove didn't start out to be a nazi, or a fascist or....as amazing as it may seem today....even evil. He just wanted power.

George Bush CERTAINLY didn't want to become a nazi....them uniforms look dag gum uncomfortable!

All George really wanted was a nice easy job somewhere to keep Laura and his Mom off his back so he could golf and clear brush. Then something mysterious happened and George found god and pretended to stop drinking. George wanted power too, now.

So George never said to Karl, "Hey Karl, lets become Fascists!"

They just wanted power. But Karl was a very smart man and a very good student. if you want to achieve something historic, you look to history for guidance, and that's what Karl did.

Killing in the Name of Democracy

The U.S. government’s first experience with forcibly spreading  democracy came in the wake of the Spanish-American War. When the U.S. government declared war on Spain in 1898, it pledged it would not annex foreign territory. But after a swift victory, the United States annexed all of the Philippines.

A Democratic Dictatorship

Amidst all the discussion and debate about whether President Bush has violated the law by ordering the National Security Agency (NSA) to record telephone conversations, we must not overlook an important fact: the United States is now traveling in uncharted waters, ones in which the ruler of the nation is exercising omnipotent power over the American people. A more appropriate word would be one that offends some Americans when it is applied to their system of government: dictatorship. But as uncomfortable as that term might make Americans, the fact is that ever since 9/11 Americans have been living under dictatorial rule.

What is a dictator? A dictator is a ruler whose powers are omnipotent, that is, unconstrained by external or superior law. A dictator has the power to take whatever actions he wants without concerning himself about whether they are legal. Anything the dictator does is legal because he is the law.

"Fascism" Frame Set Up by Right-Wing Press

The aggressive new campaign by the administration of President George W. Bush to depict U.S. foes in the Middle East as "fascists" and its domestic critics as "appeasers" owes a great deal to steadily intensifying efforts by the right-wing press over the past several months to draw the same comparison.

LESSONS TO BE LEARNED FROM LEBANON

Now that the 32-day Israeli war against Lebanon has been superseded by a precarious ceasefire, it's time to reflect on the lessons it can teach
everyone involved. Here are the top ten:
1. Low tech weapons can stand up to high tech ones.
2. Israel is the world's most aggressive state in relation to its size.
3. Israel's neighbors must include commando units as part of their permanent armed forces.
4. Israel cannot sustain a militant society forever.
5. There is no freedom of the press; freedom is reserved for media owners.
6. The U.S. is no friend to any Middle Eastern nation, including Israel.
7. Arab states should learn from South Korea.
8. Ceasefires are for Israel to violate.
9. Most Jews still subscribe to Zionism.
10. Conflict in the Middle East is political, not religious.

Israel: Beyond Good and Evil?

The ordinary rules of morality don't apply to the IDF: Gillerman and his government are explicitly rejecting international moral norms, asserting that Israel has the right to commit any atrocity in the name of "self-defense." And if their "defense" requires the reduction of Lebanon to rubble, then so be it. Such is the creed of the new Israeli Overman.

n normal society, individuals who live by this Nietzschean code of anti-ethics are called sociopaths. Most wind up behind bars. Others find employment in the various branches of government.

Is Hamas a Terrorist Organization?

Removing Hamas from the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations is a “win-win” situation for everyone. It legitimizes the Palestinian election, it moves Israel closer to a negotiated settlement with the PA, and it elevates the Bush administration in the eyes of its critics. Washington can still play a central role in this long-running conflict, but it will take bold action and perseverance.

In the editorial pages of Murdoch's antipodean flagship, The Australian, the bombing of Beirut is presented as "Israel doing Lebanon a favour" and restive Arabs are described as "Nazis". The price of Israel

Israel's war on Lebanon has exposed once and for all that its security will be bought even at the cost of war crimes and mass destruction. This immoral situation must come to an end, writes Lamis Andoni

Once again Israel wreaks havoc and destruction and the world's main response is to seek ways to "guarantee the security of Israel". This is the essence of the present diplomatic flurry, of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and most alarmingly the premise underlying the dominant Western, and to a lesser extent Arab, political discourse.

Dershowitz's Moral Barbarism

As Israel's military bravely fires away shells and missiles to lay waste the fragile human and physical infrastructure of Lebanon, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, waging battle on a second front to legitimize Israel's criminal aggression, bravely fires away op-eds from his foxhole at Martha's Vineyard to lay waste the fragile infrastructure of international law. These are but the latest salvoes in Dershowitz's long and distinguished career of apologetics on behalf of his Holy State.

The case against collaboration between India and Israel

After thirty-four days of relentless aerial bombardment and a ground invasion, Israel's brutal assault on Lebanon's civilian population has come to a halt, at least temporarily. As the dust from the rubble of Lebanon's ruined cities, villages, and infrastructure settles, and as bodies of victims are recovered and buried, and the human losses mourned by the people of Lebanon, serious questions are being raised about India's increasingly cozy relationship with Israel. It is increasingly apparent that the Indian government cannot continue to expand military and economic ties with Israel, and still expect to be untarnished by this association in the eyes of the world.

More than a thousand Lebanese were killed by indiscriminate Israeli bombardment, the vast majority of them civilians. At the height of the Israeli assaults in early August, at least 45% of the dead were children. Approximately a million had been forced to leave their homes from an entire swathe of that country which Israel unilaterally and illegally declared its zone of operations, a virtual free-fire zone.

9/11 :  The truth about the "Terror Plot".... and the new "pseudo-terrorism"

I am disappointed to say that so far there has been very little serious critical discussion, grounded in factual analysis, of the alleged "Terror Plot" foiled on the morning of Wednesday, 10th August 2006. Except for a few noteworthy comment pieces, such as Craig Murrays critical speculations published by the Guardian 18th August., the mainstream media has largely subserviently parroted the official claims of the British and American governments. This is a shame, because inspection of the facts raises serious problems for the 10/8 official narrative.

No Imminent Plot!
