Akibat mahu tutup skandal, bekas YB gelabah beli semua Harakah!

LUMPUR, 22 Feb (Hrkh) - Bekas Ahli Parlimen Barisan Nasional (BN) Gombak, Dato'
Dr Rahman Ismail telah mengarahkan wakil dan agennya membeli sejumlah lebih
1,000 naskhah Harakah yang menyiarkan gambar berdua-duaan beliau dengan Senator
Dato' Norhayati Onn yang juga seorang Ahli Exco Wanita Umno Malaysia.

Gelabah dengan isu skandal dan gambar itu, pembelian secara borong Harakah itu
dilakukan pada Khamis 14 Februari lalu untuk memastikan berita skandal tersebut
tidak diketahui umum.
Ramai pembeli tetap Harakah turut membuat aduan bahawa akhbar terbabit sudah
tidak dijual di beberapa kedai dan ketika ditanya kepada para pekedai sekitar
sini, semua memaklumkan bahawa beberapa wakil BN datang membeli Harakah secara
borong, setelah diselidiki ianya atas arahan Rahman.
Demikian adalah petikan berita daripada risalah Kempen yang dijual RM2.00 telah
diedarkan ke seluruh negara untuk pembaca yang dahagakan informasi tepat
mengenai suara alternatif dalam demam pilihan raya umum ke-12.
Antara yang isu menarik dalam Kempen ini ialah analisis semasa mengenai isu
penyelewengan pilihan raya, isu negara berkebajikan, isu kegagalan pengurusan
ekonomi, skandal anak menantu Perdana Menteri termasuk pendedahan Rahman Ismail
yang membeli semua naskhah Harakah tersebut.
"Selain Kempen berharga RM2.00, kami juga menerbitkan Kempen 1, Kempen 2,
Kempen 3 secara percuma dan diedarkan melalui PAS Negeri masing-masing," ujar
Ketua Pengarang Harakah Ahmad Lutfi Othman.

In case you havent noticed, there is a new blog in town. The Malaysian
Election Media Monitors Diary, which is now in full flow.
This is an initiative launched on Saturday by Charter 2000-Aliran, the Centre
for Independent Journalism (CIJ) and the Writers Alliance for Media
Independence (WAMI) to monitor the medias coverage of the 12th general
election campaign. They are assisted by a team of incredibly dedicated and
committed young independent volunteers.
We are dissecting the media coverage in the newspapers and over radio and
television.
The aim is to ensure that the media coverage is fair, professional, and
ethical. What this means is that there must be:
* equal access to the mainstream media for all parties;
* fair and sufficient coverage for all parties; and
* the right to reply or to respond to state a position or to clarify baseless
allegations
Check out the Media Monitors Diary to see the fine work these young
volunteers have done as media monitors. (There is hope in Malaysian society,
after all!)
