Abu Qatadah ( Radhiallaho anha ) reported : The Messenger of Allah ( Sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ) was asked about the observance of Saum ( fasting ) on the day of ‘Arafah. He said, “It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year.”
