I can't help with this but I may have a related problem. I have uploaded
lots of content and then use the wdbp-set-properties to set the type. This
works well and makes the content manageable in Hippo. I have enabled
Versioning which works for other content types but when when I try to set
the createVersionOnPublication property it fails. Without this no versioning
will happen so I'm wondering what to do or even if it is related to your
problem.
