Hi Bart,
Thanks for the help. I can now see my document indexed and assigned the
correct workflow after set the type. However, it seems that I have to
make changes to the directory (eg, add a document) to refresh the
directory view before my document is visible in the CMS. I thought it
was an index problem with the directory, so I've ran the repairindex
script. It doesn't seem to do the charm though. Any suggestions?

Also, is there any property I can set so that my document can have a
workflow status and shows up in the CMS TODO automatically?

Thanks a lot!
June

The UID should be autocreated by the repository, but you have to set the

type yourself. The workflow is started when the document is frist
selected/opened in the CMS.

The index is usually set by the CMS when you create a document. It
doesn't get set by the repository. We have a tool that creates/repairs
the index on documents and folders [1].

solution?
Yes, it's quite common to do imports from other sources into the
repository. The best way to go is to write your own import tool, because

it's almost impossible to write a generic tool that takes care of all
the specific situations. We have several tools that do most of the
things you need like the filesync, dav2disk and repairindex tools. Most
of them are pretty straight forward. If you're not sure about what
properties to set feel free to ask here on the list.
