If these configuration files were the problem, then I guess solution of
restarting repos and editor wouldn't have worked, which it did. So I
suspect something else is the problem and/or it only takes time (and
use) to manifest itself.

It could be the document views or one of the component.xml files.
Otherwise it might be the actions.xml.

Second log file (error.log) contains another error, which is (or just
seems to me to be) a different issue from the previously mentioned
one. Nevertheless, I'm having troubles understanding it, too...
