Subject: No more 5% Goverment tax

That I shd bring to your attn that a service tax exemption has been granted
to hotels and restaurants from 1 june 03 to 31 dec 03. What it means is
that when u makan at these places, there shd not be a 5% service tax added
to the cost of your meal. Check your receipts when u pay for your food to
make sure that they do not wrongly charge u for the tax.
It include plcs like coffee bean, snack bars, deli, mcdonalds, food
court,... went for lunch today in an upmarket restaurant and when the bill
arrived, noted that they billed us the 5% service tax. When we told them
abt it, after the uummm and ahhhhhh, they decided to give us a 5% discount!
though the 5% may not be much (our tax was RM18), we shd make sure that
these restaurants shud not charge the customers unfairly la!
