We are seeing a number of examples of this virus ( W32/ <mailto:W32/[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [EMAIL PROTECTED]) arriving within Email, the mail will arrive as below:
From: The address varies and can be spoofed
Subject: The subject line varies but includes those below
* Error
* Status
* Server Report
* Mail Transaction Failed
* Mail Delivery SubSystem
* hello
* hi
Attachment: (varies [.bat, .exe, .pif, .cmd, .scr] - often arrives in a ZIP archive)
examples (common names, but can be random)
* doc.bat
* document.zip
* message.zip
* readme.zip
* text.pif
* hello.cmd
* body.scr
* test.htm.pif
* data.txt.exe
* file.scr
* alert.txt
Body: Varies but includes the below
* The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a binary attachment.
* The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment.
* Mail transaction failed. Partial message is available.
Action Required by Email Users:
Please DO NOT click on the attachment to open it.
Delete the mail item immediately
