That is certainly an odd request… I have never performed any special stains under a hood any place I have ever worked. Always done on a counter top near a sink… Is someone in your department extremely sensitive to odors? Or have asthma? We have a tech who experiences attacks if there are certain chemicals in the air however, she has never complained about the special stains odors.

Contact the Service Desk @ x258600 or (920) 436-8600 I would like to know how many people perform (manual) routine special stains under a hood. We do basic specials - Giemsa, AB/PAS, GMS, Trichrome, Muci - but we do them on the counter, not under a hood. We have been told the staining needs to be done under a hood, but I have never done that in my entire career. _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet<http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet> _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet
