We usually cut 3 lvls/slides for prostate/vaginal/bladder and anus. 6 lvls/slides for cervical tissues. In the end it is the pathologists comfort level with sectioning to make the diagnosis. ________________________________ From: Ringer, Bradley via Histonet <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 3, 2020 10:26 AM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: [Histonet] Levels on biopsies
Hi All, I'm curious to know how many levels your lab cuts on the following biopsies: prostate core, cervical, vaginal, bladder, and anus biopsies. I ask this because we are currently (and have been for years) giving our pathologists 3 levels/slides for each of these and they recently requested that we only give them one slide with two sections. Thank you in advance for any responses. -Brad Brad Ringer, HTL (ASCP) Springfield Clinic Histology Manager 1025 S. 6th Street Springfield, IL 62703 (217)528-7541 ext. 14078 _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list [email protected] http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet
