I'm attaching a patch to org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.Utilities. Currently
this class has a static field instance of type mapredWork. Changing the
reference to ThreadLocal has eliminated the race conditions we found while
executing several concurrent queries through a simple HiveConnection pool.
