Just saw Zhengs comment.

The problem with TaskID / total tasks is:
 - We might first launch task 1, then task 4, and then task 2. It'll then look 
like 1/7, 4/7 and 2/7
 - Also, we currently aren't displaying non-MR tasks in the log. So total tasks 
could be 7, but we display information about only the 3 map-reduce ones.
