not spend on development, but that is untrue. Abdul Hameed established fax
lines between Yemen, Hijaz, Great Syria, Iraq and Turkey. Then he connected
it to the fax lines of Iran and India. He managaed to earn back the cost of
the project withen only two years because of the extensive use of these
lines by the Hujjaj (the people who go to Mecca to do the pilgramage).
