Protesters march to Sogo

11am, TUE: Unable to proceed to the High Court, key
KeADILan leaders, vice-president Tian Chua and Youth
chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Noor led the protesters to Sogo
shopping complex. Both had earlier sought information
from the police regarding the arrest of 11
demonstrators. They were told to speak to the Dang
Wangi police station. About 50 Federal Reserve Unit
officers were seen preparing for another round of
arrests near Dataran Merdeka. Earlier when KeADILan
deputy secretary N. Gobalakrishnan was taken to the
police truck, he told malaysiakini that he had not
committed any crime. "This is becoming a police
state," he said. [More reports to follow]

Six demonstrators arrested

10:30am, TUE: The police arrested six protesters
including KeADILan Youth deputy secretary N.
Gobalakrishnan near Masjid Jamek LRT. About 20 police
officers arrived earlier and gave the 300 protestors
who assembled there two minutes to disperse. When they
refused to do so, they moved in to nab the protesters.
Members of the public were seen jeering at the police
action. KeADILan vice-president Tian Chua condemned
the high-handed behaviour of the police. "I protest
against the provocative manner of the police. We are
merely gathering peacefully here," he said. He added
that he would not be intimidated by the police action
and would continue to rally peacefully in the next few
days. [More reports to follow]

Reformasi protesters gather near High Court

10am, TUE: About 300 pro-reformasi supporters have
congregated near the Masjid Jamek LRT station this
morning. Protest organisers said that they would soon
be marching to the High Court nearby where sacked
deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim is currently
facing trial for sodomy. The protestors sang reformasi
songs and most were wearing KeADILan headbands. Police
presence is, however, minimal. Only a handful of
uniformed police were seen around the area. [More
reports to follow]
