Have you ever wondered why some people can eat and eat
and never put on a single ounce? While some of us have
to go through hell just to get a few inches of your
waist. Well, the answer is with their metabolism, or
the rate at which the food you ate are digested. The
higher is obviously the better but what can we do to
raise a low metabolism. Some "experts" claimed that it
can be boosted through exercise. I have no arguement
with that but it is only a temporary affair.
Furthermore, you have to exercise like three times
a week. What I've researched so far has nothing to do
with exercise or any temporary thing. I'm talking
about permanently altering your metabolism by what,
when and how much we eat. By all means, I'm open to
any disagreements that any of you may have.

Why do people starve themselves just to lose weight
and gain it all again after that. Yeah, starving will
burn excess fat in your body but does a lot of damage
to the metabolism. The human body is very demanding.
If it does not get what it wants, then get ready for a
strike and this form of strike is more or less
permanent. If you starve yourself, meaning depriving
the body from food, your metabolism sense that your
body does not have the nutrients that the body needs
and to save the rest of your body, it slows down its
rate of digestion. This has a alarming effect to the
extent that it
will not only be permanent but potentially harmful.
That is the reason why, if you break your diet, you
tend to put on weight easily and in greater volume.

But that is not the end. We can do something about
this rate. Even when you're old and has no strength to
exercise, this will not make a difference. The trick
is, and this is the best bit, is to eat normally. Have
three and a half meals a day. Don't skip any meal. But
what do you eat? This is the important bits that you
must adhere to. First of all, breakfast. Never,
never skip your breakfast. This is when your
metabolism is really high and is waiting to do some
work. Have a protein meal in the morning. Only
protein. Protein is harder to break down than
carbohydrate. Eggs, bacon or
anything meaty will do fine. Chicken is also good but
remember the skins. Throw them away. Avoid fish at all
cost. Have a large sum if you will. The rationale is,
when your metabolism is really high, you have to make
them work. This, you can say, is the exercise that
your metabolism will have to go through and not you.
Furthermore, the absorption of nutrients is most
active during this period. Wash it all down with
calcium. What I meant by calcium is drinks like milk,
coffee or tea (with milk, of course). The combination
of this two acts like a catalyst. You will feel like
crapping immediately after this meal but that shows
that it's working.

Next is lunch. Have whatever you want. Protein or
carbo is fine. Don't avoid fats completely. They can
do wonders for you, if you know what amount to take.
Have a lot of fish or chicken. You need to last the
whole afternoon on a single fill. So have a bit. Go
for second helping if necessary. Your metabolism is at
it's normal rate now. The mixture of carbo and protein
is
to regulate the rate. Remember that protein takes a
longer time to digest that carbo. Have a decent amount
of veggies and fibre.

This next step is often misunderstood. Dinner. Some
will skip dinner completely. Bad move. The trick is to
go for large helping of carbo and only carbo. Bread,
pasta or rice will do fine. Go for poultry if you need
some meat. Again, remember the skins. Fish are fine
too. Wash it down with plain, cold water. The cold
water again acts as a catalyst. A wake up call, if you
will. And sink it in with fruits or anything high in
fibre.

By now, you'll probably wonder what is the half of a
meal that I've mentioned earlier. This is your supper.
Most of us would skip this totally. That's fine but a
better alternative is, again, to have a small meal.
I've noticed that chinese would never skip supper and
they are known to have high metabolism. So what's the
deal? Carbo. Take a bit of carbo before you retire
for the night. Bread, pasta or potato, or noodles
(like what a chinese friend of mine usually have
before he sleeps). Wash it down with calcium. Some of
you might want to avoid caffeine. But a tall glass of
milk would do just fine. Avoid anything with fibre.
This will only tell your metabolism that ,"Hey, you've
done your job. Now rest." And you'll end up to square
one. Again, the rationale is, your metabolism is
lowest during this period. So low that it does not do
anything at all. A bit of carbo would force it to work
a little harder. The milk is, again, the catalyst.

The idea of this paper is to look at all the chemical
properties that would react with the enzymes in your
stomach and how to outsmart our own body. Remember, it
is the mind that control the body. Certain nutrients
acts differently that others and my job is to expose
the loopholes that would benefit us in the long run.
I've adhered to this myself and found myself with more
energy and looser fitting jeans. This is very similiar
to hay diet but with a bit of a twist with cherry on
top. And it should help boost your metabolism too,
PERMANENTLY.
