Heavy police presence, crowd normal
1.05pm, SAT: Two hours before the scheduled 'Black 14' gathering,
malaysiakini journalists on the
ground reported heavy police presence in three key areas near Merdeka
Square. An unusual number of
plainclothes police were seen in Central Market, Masjid Jamek and the
Masjid Jamek LRT station.
However, the number of people in the area appeared normal. Six police
trucks and a water cannon vehicle
were parked in front of Central Market, while 16 police trucks and a
water cannon vehicle were spotted
near Dataran Merdeka.
