To kings and presidents, to princes and ministers, to propagators and scholars, to imams and orators, to teachers and professors, to literary scholars and poets, to businessmen and the wealthy, to the directors of charity organizations, and to all those who seek the bounties of Allah.. May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you all. This is a call from your brothers in Chechnya; It is a call that looks to find a place in your conscience, it is not a call that should simply be heard and forgotten. It is a call that represents not only the cries of the oppressed and the appeals of those who have fallen under the yoke of tyranny, but a call that also reminds you of your faith and your religion. We remind you of Allah�s rights and remind you of your rights before reminding you of our rights. It is Allah�s right that His slaves be loyal to Him: " Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat (Torah) and Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the Supreme Success. " [Quran 9:111] You also have a right upon yourselves to strive and to give in every way possible when the Umma is going through times of need: " Behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allah, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his ownself. But Allah is Rich (Free of all wants) and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islam), He will exchange you for some other people, and they will not be your likes. " [Quran 47:38] We too have rights that are incumbent upon you; For in our religion those who are tested and are in hardship have rights that are incumbent upon those who are in comfort: �Among the people are those who are in hardship and those who are in comfort; Have mercy upon those who are in hardship, and thank Allah for what he bestows in goodness.� Your responsibility towards us also includes maintaining the rights of all members of the brotherhood of Islam: " The believers, men and women, are Auliya (helpers,
supporters, friends, protectors) of one another..." [Quran
9: 71] The prophet (pbuh) said: �A Muslim is the brother of every other Muslim; he does not do him wrong and does not abandon him. Whomsoever comes to the aid of his brother at the time of need, Allah will aid him at at his time of need. Whosoever lifts a burden off of his brother, Allah will remove from upon him a burden from the (many) burdens of the day of judgment.� The Prophet has also said: �Be (amongst each other) slaves of Allah and brothers; A Muslim is the brother of every other Muslim; he does not do him wrong, does not look down upon him and does not let him down.� To All Leaders of the Islamic World: You are responsible for protecting your religion and giving it glory! Are you not angered by the vicious attacks against Islam? have you forgotten about the sanctity of Allah�s religion and the sacredness of Muslim lives? Do you have not even the slightest gallantry and zeal of the great caliph Al Mu�tasim who invaded Byzantium in order to avenge a single Muslim woman who was insulted by a Byzantine soldier? And what of our Islamic Scholars? What answer do you give us from the many textbooks on jurisprudence that you have memorized and that you have taught to your students? We remind you to take example in the companion Abu Talha Al Ansari, who read Allah�s words: �Rise (to battle) Light and Heavy, Young and Old� and without hesitating ordered his sons: �Prepare me for battle! Prepare me for battle!.� Take example also in Abd Allah Ibn Al-Mubarak who recited the following verses: Oh Worshiper in the two holy sites, Remember your Umma that has been shredded piece by piece by its enemies! Remember the fact that your Umma is lost in an ocean of deceit created by media and news organizations that deliberately misguide in order to shatter the morale of our brothers and sisters around the world! True indeed are the words of the poet: If they knew the truth they would hide it " Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend of that whereof He has made you trustees. And such of you as believe and spend (in Allah's Way) - theirs will be a great reward." [Quran 57:8] " And what is the matter with you that you spend not in the cause of Allah? And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all, Allah has promised the best (reward). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. " [Quran 57:10] " Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan so that He may Multiply it to him many times? And it is Allah that decreases or increases (your provisions), and unto Him you shall return. " [Quran 2:245] Take heed of the Prophet�s teachings: �Whom amongst you
loves the money of his inheritor greater than his own money? They (companions)
said: �Oh prophet of Allah, all among us love their own money (more than
that of their inheritors) The prophet replied: �Your money is what you have
hastened to spend, and the money of your inheritors is what you were slow
in spending.��. " And what you suffered (of the disaster) on the
day (of the battle of Uhud when) the two armies met, was by the leave of
Allah, in order that He might test the believers. And that He might test
the hypocrites, it was said to them: " Come, fight in the way of Allah
or (at least) defend yourselves." They said: " Had we known that
fighting will take place, we would certainly have followed you. " They
were that day, nearer to disbelief than faith. " Remember the refugees and the orphans and the elderly, and remember the saying of the Prophet (pbuh) �Believers are for one another as a brick wall that holds itself together.� and �The example of believers in their bonds of love and closeness is that of a body; if one part of the body falls ill, then all of the body remains awake throughout the night.� Be aware that what has befallen your brothers and sisters in Chechnya may come to you as well. And, take heed of the warning from Allah: " And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women and children, whose cry is "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help. " [Quran 4:75] To our noble sisters who unify the ranks of the Umma, we remind you of the life of difficulty that your sisters in Chechnya go through; They live in the midst of death and destruction, and under the governance of an enemy who is barbaric, backwards and hateful. Uncertainty is great for the possibility of rape and torture is never far away. Oh Muslims! Our Umma is one body, if one part of the body is injured or weak, then the whole body is injured and weak. Not recognizing this bond signals the emptiness of your spirits of faith! Such is the attitude of the man who makes supplication to Allah, but claims that his supplication is to protect his country from disaster. And when disaster befalls his country he claims that his supplication is to protect his city. And when the disaster befalls his city he claims his supplication is to protect his home. Such that this faithless person says: �Allah has bestowed his bounty upon me by not letting me die with them.� Remember that your brothers need your Dua. They recognize its importance and appreciate its effects. Recall when the companion Qutayba asked about Muhammad Ibn Wasii and was told Muhammad was at the flank of the army with his finger pointed to the sky. Upon hearing this, Qutayba replied: �That finger (pointed to the sky) is better than 100,000 swords.� The Prophet (pbuh) has reminded us of the importance of Dua when he said; �And do you expect victory to reach you from other than the weakest among you?.� Finally, we ask Allah to give victory to His religion and to all of His faithful slaves, and that He defeats His enemies and hastens relief for the Muslims of Chechnya. Your brother Mujahideen in Chechnya OH MUSLIMS! THIS IS A CALL TO ALL OF YOU! OH MUSLIMS across the world, in the East and the West, fight the enemy in person and with your wealth! Fight the enemy with your supplications to Allah Most High that he may bestow victory upon your brothers who are oppressed in Chechnya! During Ramadan, your prayers and supplications had a tremendous impact on the Mujahideen, whose morale was raised and whose determination was strengthened. YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPLICATIONS WERE CRITICAL IN DEFEATING THE ENEMIES OF ALLAH ON THE BATTLE FIELD; indeed the Mujahideen felt the power of your Dua on the battlefield as they switched from defensive strategies to offensive tactics, a move that lead to the decisive defeat of enemy forces on numerous occasions. The war is not over however, and the heavy bombardment continues. WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED OR REDUCED YOUR DUA FOR THE MUJAHIDEEN? have you become exhausted by standing in the middle of the night and asking Allah to bestow His mercy and victory upon your brothers in Chechnya? Or were you impatient in seeking a speedy answer to your prayers? All Muslims should know that Allah will never tire from listening to your supplications and prayers. He will only stop listening to them when you stop raising your hands in Dua. The Mujahideen and your brothers and sisters in Chechnya call upon you to join them in their battle against the enemies of Allah Most High; YOU CAN FIGHT THE ENEMY DIRECTLY BY MAKING CONTINUOUS DUA FOR YOUR BROTHERS, AND YOU WILL FEEL THE POWER OF YOUR DUA MANIFESTING ITSELF ON THE BATTLEFIELD. All Muslims are called upon to make Dua for the Mujahideen without pause until Allah bestows complete victory upon the Muslims in Chechnya. And may all of you, dear brothers and sisters be aware THAT YOUR DUA IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE MOST SOPHISTICATED WEAPONS AND MIGHTIER THAN THE STRONGEST MILITARY MACHINES. Defeat the weakness in yourselves, and make Dua for your brothers during the five obligatory prayers as well as during the night prayers, Witr and Qiyam. Make Dua that the Mujahideen are victorious, and that the harsh conditions faced by your brothers are quickly overcome. We are in a situation of difficulty that none other than Allah Most High knows about; enemy planes are bombing us from over our heads, and artillery rains shells at us without pause. SO GIVE GENEROUSLY BY MAKING DUA, FIGHT JIHAD THROUGH SUPPLICATIONS AND SUPPORT YOUR BROTHERS BY REMEMBERING THEM DURING YOUR PROSTRATION'S AND WHEN YOU ARE ALONE WITH ALLAH MOST HIGH. INDEED ALLAH DOES NOT WASTE THE REWARD OF ONE WHO DOES GOOD.
Monday 24 April 2000 Russian Reinforcements Receive Their First Battering Last week, the Russian Military dispatched thousands of elite paratroopers and fresh armoured formations to reinforce Russian units that are receiving a continuous battering at the hands of the Mujahideen in southern Chechnya. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Russian reinforcements failed to change the situation on the battlefield because of the incompetence of their leadership and the strong deployments of the Mujahideen (See 23/04 news; 4th para, `100 armoured vehicles blocked`). On Sunday, the Mujahideen delivered their first of several blows against the newly deployed Russian units. A force of Mujahideen led by Field Commander Abul Waleed Al-Kindi was conducting a reconnaissance mission when it detected the movement of a Russian armoured column, which included 23 vehicles, on the road from Serzhen Yurt to Vedeno. Abul Waleed's unit quickly joined a second force of Mujahideen led by Field Commander Abu Ja'far Al-Yemeni that had been stationed near the Serzhen Yurt-Vedeno road for more than four days, and hastened to set-up an ambush for the oncoming convoy. At the right time, the Mujahideen unleashed a hail of fire and a chorus of takbirs (Allah-u-Akbar! Allah is the Greatest!) against the Russian convoy. In less than one hour, the Mujahideen turned all of the 23 vehicles into masses of burning hulls and twisted metal. The destroyed vehicles include 10 trucks, four BMP infantry fighting vehicles, one Shilka multiple cannon vehicle and several other variants of Russian military vehicles. Mujahideen sources confirm that 56 Russian soldiers were killed in the attack. A black cloud continued to hover over the site of the battle, and Russian evacuation crews are confirmed to have been removing the corpses of their dead comrades until the dispatch of this report. By the Grace of Allah, none of the Mujahideen were killed or wounded. The two Mujahideen units under the leadership of Field Commanders Abul Waleed and Abu Ja'far returned to their bases in full strength laden with significant quantity of captured arms. All praise be to Allah.
Monday 24 April 2000 Russians Sustain Heavy Losses in New Ambush By the Grace of Allah Most High, a force of Mujahideen led by commander Abul Waleed Al-Kindi successfuly ambushed a Russian convoy on the road linking the Chechen towns of Vedeno and Serzhen Yurt. Mujahideen sources confirm that no less than 10 Russian armoured vehicles were destroyed in the attack; although no specific count of enemy casualties can be reported at this time, the Mujahideen confirm that there are very heavy losses amongst the ranks of Russian troops in the doomed convoy. More details to follow soon Insha-Allah. Sunday 23 April 2000 Russian Offensive Falters Before it Starts On Monday, the Russian Military commenced a large scale offensive in the southern parts of Chechnya. The Russian Military dispatched nearly 15,000 troops to support this offensive and to bolster the tens of thousands of Russian soldiers already present in the region. Most of the 15,000 troops are elite paratroopers and members of fresh armoured formations. Mujahideen sources have confirmed that the Russian offensive is now in its preliminary stages; by the Grace of Allah, the Russian offensive is confirmed to have run into trouble before it has had the chance to go into full swing; tensions within the Russian High Command have risen as the rift between the Ministry of Defence (Armed forces, including Army, Marine Infantry, Paratroopers etc.) and the Ministry of Interior (OMON special police etc.) grows worse every day. The Russian Government has also denied reports that reinforcements were being sent to Chechnya. Mujahideen sources confirm that the Russian leadership is aware that its offensive will fail and is trying to conceal any military action undertaken lest its inevitable outcome become known to the world. Russian diplomats are trying to convince the Russian Military leadership of the need to negotiate a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The Mujahideen will help support the efforts of the Russian diplomats by crushing the latest offensive, Insha-Allah. Stifled by the fractured stance and incompetence of their leadership, the Russian Military has failed to even launch a proper attack using its large forces and fresh reinforcements. On Saturday, the Mujahideen succeeded in blocking the advance of a more than 100 armoured vehicles into the mountainous region and are fully prepared to batter the enemy�s every move. Elsewhere in Chechnya, the Mujahideen ambushed a Russian convoy near Kersheloy for the second time in three days. Mujahideen sources confirm that 21 Russian soldiers were killed and two armoured personnel carriers destroyed in the attack. The Mujahideen have issued a statement confirming their preparedness, and encouraging Muslims to join the fight by making Dua that Allah give victory to the Muslims of Chechnya: �Despite all of the hardships and difficulties, we assure
our brothers that our situation is good and that our morale is high. By the
Will of Allah, we are ready to break the head of tyranny, but ask for your
help by making dua to Allah for us. We remind you of the teachings of Allah
in the Holy Quran: Your brothers, the Mujahideen.�
Friday 21 April 2000 Russian Casualties Mount The Mujahideen have continued to attack Russian forces across Chechnya. On Wednesday the Mujahideen mined a road leading to the village of Pasha Yurt. One Russian truck using the road drove over the mine and exploded killing all of its four occupants. Mujahideen sources confirm that Russian units are taking extensive precautions in an effort to curb their mounting losses in the war. Some of the preparations have gone to extremes that include evacuating certain posts and withdrawing from others that are located close to roads and pathways. The enemy has also ordered all of its troops to stop traveling in small and medium units and to undertake all movement in large units. Mujahideen Prepare to Foil New Paratrooper Offensive Shortly after their humiliating defeat in Grozny, the Russian Military attempted to cut off the Mujahideen�s movements from the Capital to the southern mountains by launching a large-scale paratrooper offensive in Chechnya�s mountainous region. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen battered the Russian paratrooper unit and blunted their offensive; every Russian attempt to make significant headway into the region was crushed and Russia suffered some of its highest casualties in the war. Mujahideen sources confirm that the enemy is now attempting
to launch a new paratrooper assault on the Mujahideen�s positions in the mountains;
several Russian units consisting of thousands of elite paratroopers are known
to be moving in the directions of Vedeno and other parts of the southern mountains.
In a communiqu� released earlier today, a Mujahideen statement made the following
announcement: Heavy Casualties In Latest Flare Up Between Russian Military and Their �Allies� On Monday, a Russian soldier killed a member of the pro-Moscow militia. The militia demanded that the Russian soldier be handed over and killed; the Russians refused and a bloody firefight between the �allies� ensued. Mujahideen sources confirm that the �allies� collectively lost five vehicles that were destroyed and 44 men who were killed or wounded.
Wednesday 19 April 2000 Mujahideen Ambush Russian Convoy Near Kersheloy The Mujahideen successfully carried out their third ambush of Russian forces in as many days on Tuesday. By the Will of Allah, the Mujahideen knew of the precise movements of a Russian convoy traveling on the Alshkin-Yurt path. The route was mined and, upon the arrival of the enemy, the Mujahideen detonated the mines and engulfed the enemy in a hail of bullets. Mujahideen sources confirm that two trucks were destroyed and that nine Russian soldiers were killed in the attack. Several other Russian soldiers were wounded. Skirmish in the Argun Valley Three Mujahideen from the unit of field commander Abul Waleed were patrolling part of the Argun Valley when they were discovered by a pro-Moscow hypocrite. One of the Mujahideen had been injured, and the hypocrite approached the Mujahideen seeming to offer some help. The hypocrite returned to his village, and instead of helping the Mujahideen, informed the Russian Military of the Mujahideen�s location. A Russian colonel of Military Intelligence moved to arrest the Mujahideen and formed a force that included a six man squad and two vehicles, including an armoured personnel carrier. The force was guided to the location of the Mujahideen by the hypocrite who thought that the small unit of the Mujahideen, including one who was injured, would be helpless against the Russians. As soon as the Mujahideen detected the approaching vehicles, they fired a RPG round (rocket propelled grenade) that destroyed the armoured vehicle. The other vehicle was damaged by machine gun fire. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen killed the Russian colonel, the hypocrite and three soldiers, the remaining three survivors fled for their lives and the Mujahideen returned safely to their bases.
Tuesday 18 April 2000 A Very Quick and Pleasant Piece of News Chechen Mercenary Units Turns against their Russian Masters After a Russian soldier assassinated a Chechen civilian in the province of Vedeno, the Chechen Mercenary Units insisted on killing the aggressing Russian soldier. They surrounded one of the Russian convoys heading to Vedeno. At which point an argument took place between the leader of the Russian forces in Vedeno and the Convoy leader. Apparently, the convoy leader could not fulfill the withdraw commands of his superior because his convoy was trapped. Until now, one Russian soldier has been sent to his creator and three were injured. The enclosure is still in affect to this point. O Allah, Keep them divided, throw the hatred of each other in
their hearts, and kill them with their own hands as well as the hands of the
believers.
Tuesday 18 April 2000 Mujahideen Ambush Russian Military Intelligence Officers By the Grace of Allah, the Mujahideen successfully ambushed a convoy of Russian Military Intelligence officers in the Argun Valley. Mujahideen sources confirm that two vehicles were destroyed and that one officer and three soldiers were killed in the attack. Chechen Mercenary Ridicules Russian Military High Command On Sunday, the Russian Military formed a new pro-Moscow militia that is comprised of criminal gangs, elements of the Chechen Mafia and other degenerates (See 17/04 news) Less than 24 hours into its formation, one of the militia�s most �senior� Mafia bosses known as �Bislan Gantamirov� ridiculed the Russian Military�s claim that the Mujahideen were defeated and that the war was virtually over. The militia leader who was charged with patrolling the province of Urus-Martan confirmed that the Mujahideen were spread all across Chechnya and were attacking the Russian Military with strength and impunity. Since the beginning of the war, Russia has formed several militias in an attempt to subdue the Mujahideen and to show the world that the Chechens �love� Russia and are willing to fight for Chechnya to remain under Russian occupation. All praise be to Allah, every one of these militias was either exterminated by the Mujahideen or by disputes between the militias and the Russian Military. The humiliating revelations and complaints made by Mafia leader Gantamirov have spelled the beginning of the end for the new militia that has not yet had the chance to celebrate its first full day of �service�. Russia Trains Mercenaries To Assassinate Mujahideen The Russian Military has unsuccessfully used numerous methods to subdue the Mujahideen; special forces operations, armoured assaults, infantry charges, aerial bombardment, chemical weapons, paid militias and many other attempts have all been crushed by the Mujahideen. Stifled by its inability to fight the Mujahideen effectively, the Russian Military is training selected pro-Moscow mercenaries to assassinate members of the Mujahideen. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen discovered this plot and obtained the names of several mercenaries who are being trained as assassins. By the Will of Allah, the Mujahideen are ready for any move taken by the enemy and ready to hunt down the hunters in their own den. In response to this latest challenge, a Mujahideen communiqu� stating the following was issued: �To all treacherous agents and hypocrites, we (the Mujahideen) have a date with you! You have no escape. We pledge by Allah that should anyone of you fall into our hands (as a prisoner) we will make of him an example for the rest of you. We remind all of you about the ill fate of all treacherous and hypocritical elements: we remind you about the fate of 37 of your comrades who were humiliated by Allah and who suffered maximum justice (at the hands of the Mujahideen) for their treachery. Remember all you agents of Russia that every act must come to an end, and nothing remains thereafter except truth and justice.�
Monday 17 April 2000 Mujahideen Ambush Continues Extermination of OMON Units The Mujahideen have continued their guerilla campaign against Russian forces across Chechnya. On Sunday, the Mujahideen launched a widespread attack against the positions of OMON special police in the province of Vedeno. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen completely destroyed a garrison of OMON special police. Mujahideen sources confirm that 30 Russian soldiers were killed and several others wounded. Several of the garrison's trucks, buses, cars and armoured vehicles were destroyed in the attack. New Alliance Between Russian Military and Chechen Mafia In their latest vain attempt to subdue the Mujahideen, the Russian Military have formed a new alliance with well-known Mafia groups and criminal bands in Chechnya. Mujahideen sources confirm that anyone who joins this new proxy militia will be rewarded with a US$850 payment. Among the groups that have joined this doomed alliance are the criminal gangs of Tramis in the Vedeno, Yunowi in Neger Yurt, Khalifa Adam in Kershloy and Kantamiro in Urus Martan. These criminal gangs have not learned that the Mujahideen will crush them in the same way they crushed other pro-Moscow militias in the past. Recently, most pro-Moscow mercenaries who came from across the Russian Federation decided to abandon the war in Chechnya and to return to their homes after a series of crushing defeats at the hands of the Mujahideen (See 03/04 news). Other doomed units included (stress on past tense) the militias of the Russian appointed "mufti" Ahmad Qadirov and pro-Moscow businessmen; these militias were formed with great fanfare and media publicity - shortly after their first battles, however, these units ceased to exist. By the Will of Allah Most High, the same fate awaits the criminal gangs and Mafia's that sold their dunya and akhira for money. Mujahideen Compete for Martyrdom The Mujahideen have continued to set examples of selfless heroism and love of Allah in the field of battle. Yesterday, a number of Mujahideen were injured defending a mountaintop against a large Russian force. Without delay or hesitation, several of Mujahideen rushed to the rescue of their injured brothers. Not fearing for their own lives and eager to earn the highest of honours, four members of the Ansaar (foreign Mujahideen) were killed as the injured Mujahideen were removed to safer positions. The four brothers are Abu Akrima of Syria, Abu Abdul Aziz of Yemen (Abdul Qawi Al Yafi'i), Abu Hamza of Yemen (Usama Al Jundi) and Abu Mus'ab of Turkey. May Allah accept them all as martyrs in the highest levels of Paradise. Farewell to the Heroes of the Ummah Abu Akrima, Abu Abdul Aziz, Abu Hamza and Abu Mus'ab. From Allah are our beginnings and to Allah we return. Few are those who stand like mountains in the face of the enemy. Few are those who shine like the sun in proud proclamation: "La Illaha illa Allah!" Our brothers have drawn a map towards the fulfillment of our duties to Allah and our Ummah with their blood. Following the footsteps of the Prophet, Peace be Upon Him, and His Companions, the four martyrs thought nothing of themselves - they thought only of Allah, their duty to Allah, and their duty to their injured brothers who were in need. Without fear, without hesitation, they dissipated the whisperings of Satan, they forgot about the comfort of their homes, they left behind the worldly pleasures of this life and competed to reserve their place on the side of the Throne of Allah Most High. May Allah accept their sacrifice in His name and grant them this lofty position to which there is no second place. Truly, the signs of their martyrdom were present from the second their souls rose to Allah. All four brothers were loved and respected by the Mujahideen, and their deaths were marked by a slaughter of the enemy that was so great, the number of Russian dead could not be counted. "Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur`an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success. " [Quran 9:111] Abu Hamza of Yemen The Mujahideen take this opportunity to congratulate the family of our brother Abu Hamza on his martyrdom. Abu Hamza was recognized amongst the Mujahideen for his piety and his taqwa. He was known for his accurate interpretations of visions and dreams, and was loved for his selflessness and courage. True to his faith, Abu Hamza lived in goodness and dies in goodness. We ask Allah to accept him as a martyr and to grant him a place next to the Prophet, Peace be Upon Him, in the highest levels of Paradise.
Thursday 13 April 2000 Three Foreign Mujahideen Earn Their Martyrdom Mujahideen sources have reported that three members of the Ansaar (Foreign Mujahideen) earned their martyrdom on Wednesday. We ask Allah to accept them as martyrs, for only He grants this honour to those who fight with sincerity in His name. The three Mujahideen are brothers Abu Hamza Al-Jazairi (Algeria), Yasin Al-Bosni (Bosnia) and Qoqaz.net correspondent Masood Al-Britaani (Britain). All three Mujahideen were wounded during recent combat against the enemy and had taken permission from Mujahideen leadership to leave Chechnya temporarily in order to receive treatment and necessary surgery for their wounds. As they were heading towards the border, a hypocrite informed the OMON special police manning the border check point that the three Mujahideen were heading their way. When the Mujahideen arrived, the OMON troops prepared to arrest them by ordering them to stop and to identify themselves. Knowing the fate of what fate befalls those who are captured by the Russians, the Mujahideen preferred to die fighting than to fall into the hands of the cowards; they opened fire and mowed down a number of OMON troops before being killed themselves by a hail of frenzied Russian fire. Truly, an Ummah is never defeated when even its wounded fight and refuse to surrender. Chechens Refuse to Mimic Russian Morals After having suffered a series of severe defeats, and facing the spectre of a wide-spread Mujahideen offensive in Summer, the Russian Military is trying to substitute its legions of suicidal and paranoid troops with Chechen mercenaries. Mujahideen sources confirm that the Russian Military is offering every Chechen who comes into the service of the occupying forces a handsome sum of 650 Roubles (US$30) every month. In addition to beefing up its shattered forces in the Islamic republic, the Russian bribery offer is aimed at causing division and discord amongst the Muslims of Chechnya. This ploy will not work. By the Grace of Allah, the Chechens are, with few exceptions, a united Ummah, and will never accept the cheap bribes offered to them by the enemy. Their indomitable faith and awesome determination contrasts sharply with the attitude of most Russian soldiers, officers and politicians who are more than happy to sell out their units, their bodies, their families and their country for an extra Rouble. Mujahideen Ambush Russian Convoy The Mujahideen have continued their campaign to eat away at the strength of the Russian Military by launching unexpected strikes against enemy positions across Chechnya. With the improving weather and the advent of Summer, the Mujahideen are gearing-up to launch these attacks on a larger scale and more frequently. On Wednesday, the Mujahideen ambushed a Russian armoured convoy near Urus Martan and, by the Grace of Allah, succeeded in destroying three vehicles including an armoured personnel carrier. Although each Russian vehicle carries an average of 8-12 men, no specific count of enemy casualties could be confirmed at this time. The Mujahideen suffered no losses.
Monday 10 April 2000 Mujahideen Launch First Attack on Russian Territory The Mujahideen successfully launched the first in a series of attacks against enemy forces on Russian soil yesterday (Sunday, 09/04) . A force of Mujahideen slipped undetected through Russian lines and made their way to the Russian city of Stavropol. The Mujahideen monitored the movements of Russian soldiers in the city and decided to target 'elite' OMON units that have been engaged in war crimes against the civilian population in Chechnya. The Mujahideen proceeded to ambush a group of OMON troops at one of Stavropol's main train stations. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the ambush was successful: at least 13 OMON troops are confirmed to have been killed in the ambush. The Mujahideen sustained no casualties and confirm that not a single civilian was hurt during the attack. Suicide Rate Increases Amongst Russian Troops The suicide rate amongst Russian troops has increased considerably since the beginning of the war in Chechnya. The growing number of suicides is attributed to the constant state of fear amongst Russian troops who are subjected to unexpected and relentless attacks against their positions by the Mujahideen. During the past few days, the Mujahideen have confirmed that a Russian officer committed suicide in his command post. Another Russian soldier committed suicide in his armoured vehicle. It is important to note that suicide has always been part of military life in Russia. The Russian Military itself acknowledges that hundreds of soldiers commit suicide every year. The main reasons for this, as acknowledged by the Russian Military, include negligible pay, low morale, dire living conditions, lack of proper sanitation, malnutrition, harassment by senior officers, rape by veteran soldiers against conscripts and fear of battle. Commander Qalayev Prepares To Teach Russia A Lesson The Mujahideen have dismissed Russian reports that one of Chechnya's most renowned Mujahideen commanders, Hamza Qalayev, was killed in battle. The Mujahideen recognize that such false reports are part of Russia's wishful attempt to shake the morale of the Muslims in Chechnya and to raise the morale of the Russian Military. The Mujahideen have always shattered such Russian claims on the battlefield. And, by the Will of Allah, the Mujahideen will disprove this latest lie when Commander Qalayev announces the destruction of another 'elite' unit of Russian troops. Shamil Refuses to Meet Putin's Envoys The Russian political leadership has continued its desperate
attempt to reach a negotiated settlement with the Mujahideen. Two days ago,
Russian President Putin stepped up this effort by sending a delegation to
negotiate a peace agreement with Commander Shamil Basayev. Commander Shamil
echoed the stance of President Maskhadov and refused to meet the delegation
or to partake in any negotiations until the Russian Military surrenders to
Mujahideen demands and withdraws from Chechnya.
Monday 10 April 2000 Mujahideen Revel in the Freshness of Spring The Mujahideen are preparing to take advantage of the improving weather conditions by strengthening their deployments and stepping up their attacks against the enemy. A Mujahideen communiqu� circulated on Saturday assured: "The ground is turning green once again, and the Mujahideen are ready to reap the fruits of spring. O you Russians! We see that your heads are ripe for decapitation - you have no escape! The Mujahideen are ready for you, they have spread out across every part of Chechnya and will start 'reaping the fruits' in the cities, towns and villages. Spring has come, and the signs of Islam's victory are breezing freshly across the land!" Mujahideen wipe out large OMON convoy Just days after wiping out a force of OMON special police, the Mujahideen successfully ambushed a large OMON convoy that was travelling on a road leading to Argun. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen killed more than 65 Russian soldiers and destroyed two jeeps, one armoured vehicle and two heavy trucks filled with OMON troops. Mujahideen sources confirm that a very small unit of Mujahideen carried out the attack, and that similar operations will continue across Chechnya. Elsewhere in the republic, the following operations were conducted: 1. The Mujahideen destroyed 10 armoured vehicles in the region
of Kershloy during the past month. No specific tally of enemy casualties could
be given at this time.
Friday 07 April 2000 Russian Minister of Interior Inspects His Units Deteriorating Situation The Russian Minister of Interior arrived in Chechnya on Thursday to inspect his units and to pinpoint the reasons that led to the annihilation of several elite OMON special police formations during the past month. Mujahideen sources confirm that the Minister of Interior is meeting with senior OMON officers and is hoping to raise the low morale of his troops, several of whom have fallen into a state of hysteria. Corpses of Nine Russian Soldiers to be Exchanged For Captured Mujahideen During his visit to Chechnya, the Russian Minister of Interior asked the Mujahideen to return the corpses of nine OMON prisoners who were executed yesterday morning. The Minister of Interior assured that he would fulfill any demands set by the Mujahideen in order to retrieve the corpses of the OMON troops. The Mujahideen accepted the offer and have demanded the release of imprisoned Mujahideen, particularly brother Abu Junaid Al Iraqi and Commander Abu Salah Al Sheshani. On another note, the Russian media has reported that the families of the nine executed soldiers have vented their anger at the Russian Government for failing to accept the Mujahideen�s demands in order to save the lives of the nine soldiers. Family members and friends demonstrated against the Russian Government in the village of Karmisky Oblast and condemned the Russian Government and its policies. Mujahideen Pledge to Take Revenge Against Budonov The Mujahideen have renewed their pledge to hunt down and kill the war criminal Budonov, even if he is in Russia or any part of the world for that matter. The Mujahideen have confirmed that Budonov�s fate would befall any Russian soldier or officer who commits crimes against Muslims civilians. On another note, the Russian Government has announced that it has placed Budonov under arrest and that it is calling witnesses from his unit to testify against him in court and to report on the details of the hideous crime he committed. Irrespective of whether this trial is real or cosmetic, the Mujahideen have pledged to bring justice to Budonov and the likes of him.
Friday 07 April 2000 Putin Echoes Lenin�s Lies On the 30th of Dhul Qadah (Wednesday, April 5) the Russian Government used helicopters to distribute pamphlets that call upon the Chechen population to support the Russian Military. The pamphlets were dropped at 13:00 local time at several villages in the south of Chechnya, as well as the towns of Vedeno, Argun, Shatoi and Duba Yurt. What follows is a summary of the pamphlet�s contents: �The Chechen people need order and independence (autonomy).
This will never happen without the help of the Russian Government and Russian
law. Chechnya is part of Russia; the criminals and Wahabis led by Shamil,
Khattab and Qalayev only want power for themselves. They are the ones responsible
for the destruction of Chechnya�s cities, towns and villages. They are responsible
for the bloodshed. The Russian Government pledges to the Chechen people that
it will provide jobs, pay salaries, pay retirement benefits and ensure that
Chechnya�s infrastructure and health sector will be rebuilt. We also pledge
not to repeat the forced expulsion of Chechens from their homes in 1944. We
call upon the Chechen people not to support the criminals and the Wahabis
who are the perpetrators of this conflict.� The people of the Caucasus in general and the people of Chechnya in particular are not fooled by such lies. They remember very well the false promises made by Lenin when he ascended to Russia�s presidency in 1917: �Oh people of the Caucasus, people of the mountains, you have the right to follow your religion! We condemn the oppression that befell you at the hands of the Czar. Recognize that we will grant you (!) freedom of religion and will live with you as one nation. We will respect your rights and will cooperate together to build our country.� Less than one year after this statement was made, Lenin sent his armies into Chechnya and allowed them to go on rampage: nothing was spared in Lenin�s scorched earth campaign. People were murdered, the environment was ruined, livestock was slaughtered and mosques were converted into dance halls and pubs. Under the rule of Stalin, Russian promises to the Chechen people gained new meaning; in 1944, the entire Chechen nation were forced out of their homes and exiled to different corners of the Communist Empire. More than 1.5 million Chechens died during the expulsion process. As many as 10 million Muslims died in other Islamic republics that were under Russian occupation at the time. The Chechens recognize that Russian promises are not worth the paper they are printed on. They know that such lies are common to the Russian leadership. The Russians claim that Chechnya �needs autonomy and order� is nothing new; after all the Chechens have been fighting for more than four centuries in order to win their freedom. The Chechen people, and the Russian people before them, recognize that the Russian leadership is comprised of a mafiose-type oligarchy which is supported by international criminals and thugs � such a government would never allow Chechnya any form of independence that is free from Russian influence and decision making. The Muslims of Chechnya are following the light of Islam, and will never succumb to the lies and tyranny of the world�s most egregious and corrupt governments. If the Russian Government was true to its promises, then it would recall that charity begins at home, and it would strive to solve the infinite hardships faced by the Russian people before making such pledges to Chechnya. How can a government that changes every season provide stability, continuity and effective planning? It is the government�s corrupt and haphazard decision making process that has drowned Russia in turmoil. Russia�s statement that �Chechnya is part of Russia� is laughable; it is this arrogant and imperial claim that has strengthened the determination of Chechnya�s struggle for freedom since the 17th century. The Chechens have always made it clear that they are a Muslim nation of the Caucasus � they never have been and never will be a part of Russia. The people of Chechnya will continue their jihad until Russia is forced out of the country. Russia�s claim that the leaders of the jihad in Chechnya are criminals is an amazing twist of the truth. The Chechen people are aware that the commanders of this jihad are men who gave up political positions in order to fulfil Allah�s law on earth. The people also know that the Mujahideen and their leadership are the most selfless of people and are known to be among Chechnya�s poorest citizens; they wish nothing out of this life and its worldly pleasures, they seek nothing more than Allah�s acceptance of their efforts in His name. Moreover, the character of the Mujahideen and their leadership contrasts sharply with the irrational, irresponsible and criminal actions of the Russian Government. The people of Chechnya are fully aware of who used illegal weapons of mass destruction against civilian targets. Even Russian parliamentarians have acknowledged that �the destruction (caused by the Russian Military) will take 50 years to rebuild.� The Muslims of the Caucasus also recall the fact that 500,000 Muslims were murdered by the order of America�s lap dog, Yeltsin, in Chechnya, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan during the past 10 years, with two million others being turned into refugees. We all know that subsequent Russian Governments do not value the life of anyone but their members and their financiers: they killed ten million Muslims during the time of Stalin, and many more before and after that. Russia has become an expert at mass murder and does not understand anything but the use of force. The Russian people also recognize the untruth of their government�s claim. How can Putin and his cronies pledge to create jobs in Chechnya when nearly half of all working age men in Russia are unemployed and have degenerated into criminals and bandits? How can the Russian Government promise to pay wages and retirement benefits when it has not paid the salaries of Russian ministers for months? How can it promise to rebuild Chechnya�s health sector when Russia suffers from the highest rates of illness due to drug addiction? The Russian Government, penniless and begging the West for financial aid, has even promised to rebuild Chechnya?! Putin has announced that he has allocated 250 million roubles (less than US$ 16 million) to rebuild Chechnya. Even if Russian did allocated this sum, it would not be sufficient to clear Grozny from the rubble of destroyed buildings! The only promise that may have some truthful intent would be Russia�s pledge not to repeat the forced exile of the Chechen people. This may be true because Russia is actively working towards the extermination of every Chechen man, woman and child. Hence, when all of the Chechens are dead, there will no longer be a need for the forced expulsion of the Chechens once again. The Chechen people will ridicule Russia�s call to abandon the leadership of the Mujahideen. The Chechens are aware that their country will enjoy a prosperous future if and when the country�s wealth is no longer plundered by criminal gangs in the Kremlin. The �salvation pamphlet� is clear proof of the Russian Government�s weakness in Chechnya. It proves that the Russian Military has not been able to defeat the Mujahideen and that it cannot hold onto the lands occupied by Russian troops. More importantly, the pamphlet disproves Russian claims that 85% of Chechens support the war. If this was true, there would be no need to re-convince the people to support the Russian Government. The wide scope of concessions promised by Russia is symmetrical to the wide scope of Russia�s inability to bring Chechnya under its control. From a military stand point, the pamphlet has revealed the Russian Military�s inability to bring important regions of Chechnya under their control. If Russian claims that the Mujahideen had been relegated into small armed bands were true, why did the Russians have to use helicopters to deploy the pamphlets in the first place. It would be more effective if ground forces could go and meet face to face with citizens and make such promises. The Russians know however that their dishonest calls for �friendship and cooperation� would be quickly rebuked by the guns of the Mujahideen or by the frying pans of Chechen grandmothers. The Chechen people are united and determined to defeat Russia and to live in freedom under the Shariah of Allah Most High. By the Will of Allah this goal will be achieved and victory will be for Allah, His Prophet and those who believe. We ask Allah to hasten the defeat and humiliation of Russia in this war, and to give His victory to the Muslims of Chechnya. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the final Prophet, his family and his companions.
Friday 07 April 2000 An Exposure of Contradictory Russian Statements and Blind Western Media and Relief Organizations All Praise be to Allah, and may the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the final Prophet. In this article, we will examine some of the contradictory statements made by the Russian leadership about the war in Chechnya. We will focus on a few of the countless contradictions before shedding light on how the Western media and international relief organizations were duped into focusing their attention on the humanitarian situation in the country while ignoring the key issue of Russian aggression against an independent nation. It is plainly obvious to observers of the conflict that the war in Chechnya is being managed by the Russian Government in a disorganized and archaic manner. For example, the President Elect of Russia, Putin the Loser, recently claimed that the war in Chechnya was over and that Russia had wiped out �terrorist� activities in the republic. Shortly after this announcement, the Russian Minister of Interior contradicted the Russian President and said the war would be concluded by Thursday, 3rd of Dhul Qadah (Mid February). During this time, the Deputy Commander of Russian Forces in the Caucasus, General Trushev, contradicted the Minister of Interior and said the war would be over by late March. Trushev also claimed that there were 3,500 Mujahideen remaining and that most of them were surrounded in the mountainous areas of Chechnya. However, only a few days before Trushev�s announcement, the Minister of Defence claimed that there were only 1,500 Mujahideen remaining. Truly, what kind of men are the Mujahideen who, according to Russian statements, can increase their numbers by several thousand in a matter of days or hours!? Any objective observer recognizes that the numerous deadlines announced by the Russian leadership were made with the sole objective of supporting Putin�s election campaign. The repeated lies of the Russian leadership fooled the traditionally na�ve Russian public into believing that victory was near and that the war was virtually over. It is no surprise that under these circumstances, Putin was elected. Shortly after Putin�s election, Russian officers and politicians began admitting some of the catastrophes that befell the Russian Military in Chechnya. The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Defence acknowledged that: �The Chechen fighters have succeeded in organizing their units and managing them from a central point of command. They (the Mujahideen) have succeeded in spreading their operation across all of the Chechen Republic.� This statement contradicts an earlier announcement made by the Russian leadership that the Mujahideen were �relegated into small bands of fighters that are being hunted down.� The Russian leadership then re-contradicted itself by claiming that: �We have sustained heavy losses in the south of the country and the Chechen fighters have succeeded in dominating the areas in and around Vedeno, Nugha Yurt and other southern regions (all of which were proclaimed �liberated� by the Russian Military).� The Russians have lied and distorted facts in such a confused way that they have succeeded in shifting the focus of the Western media and international relief organizations from battlefield developments to the humanitarian situation. This was done in order to avoid having vigilant reporters discover the truth about Russian Military defeats in Chechnya, and to relegate the West�s action on the conflict to cosmetic diplomatic activity and hollow statements of condemnation against Russia. The Russian Government recognizes that the conflict is influenced by two main factors: world public opinion and Russian public opinion. It also knows that it cannot satisfy both opinions, and hence opted to satisfy Russian public opinion that is critical if the war in Chechnya was to continue � indeed, if Russian public opinion was not behind its leadership, the war would quickly come to an end. Not satisfying world public opinion would, at worst, lead to the pelting of Russian embassies with tomatoes. By fooling the Western media into focusing on the humanitarian situation, Russia has succeeded in avoiding objective reports about the war and can continue making false announcements about great Russian victories despite the prevalence of the opposite situation on the ground. An example of this would be Russian claims that the Mujahideen were trying to �break out of their surrounded positions in the mountains and make their way to the Chechen lowlands.� This lie resembles the Russian campaign of disinformation during the battle for Grozny. Then, the Russians claimed that the Mujahideen were trying to break out of the surrounded city and make their way to the mountains. Naturally, the Russians assured that all such �break-out� attempts were blocked. However, the Mujahideen still managed to withdraw in almost full strength without being detected. The Russians are now making similar claims about alleged �Mujahideen break-out� attempts from the mountains to the lowlands. These claims are entirely false; does it make sense for the Mujahideen to abandon their strong and fortified positions in the mountains to weak points in the lowlands? This Russian tactic of �lie, lie and keep on lying until they believe you� has only fooled the Russian people who are suffering more and more as a result of this war. Objective observers recognize that the contradictory statements made by Russia prove the incompetence of the Russian leadership and reveal that the war in Chechnya is only a tool being used to strengthen the hold of the mafiosi-type oligarchy on the Russian nation. The Russians also fooled the Western media with their lies and manoeuvring. For months, hundreds of thousands of Chechens were forced to abandon their homes and tens of thousands of others were killed. The Western media paid little or no attention to this war of extermination until a few pictures of mass graves and concentration camps were published. It is as though the Western media was hiding in a cave and then stepped out to see the light - only after it was too late. Furthermore, the Western political leadership�s hypocrisy has played into the hands of the Russian leadership; the best example of this was when America�s Jewish Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, visited Russia. She paid little attention to the plight of the innocent and only made a few hollow remarks about the need to avoid bombing civilian targets. However, when the journalist Babitsky (who works for the US-funded Radio Liberty) was detained, Albright went into a frenzy of tough talk and severe warnings - the genocide against the Chechen people was described merely as a �Russian internal affair.� Such Western hypocrisy increased the Russian public�s support for the war in Chechnya. Subdued by a historic inferiority complex and naively believing the worst lies of their government, 70% of Russians felt that Western criticism of Russia proved that the Government�s stance on Chechnya was just. In fact, many Russians feel proud when they listen to Western criticism of Russia: the public feels that such criticism is directed against their country because �Russia is getting stronger� and the West does not want that, hence the strong public support for the war of extermination in Chechnya. We can derive that the Russian campaign of lies and disinformation has achieved the following goals: 1. The Western media had its role relegated to covering the humanitarian situation in Chechnya. Little is reported in terms of the causes and development of the conflict. The Western media is now busy reporting on the shallow inspections and hollow statements issued by Western political leaders from refugee camps in the Caucasus. This cat-and-mouse game of inspections resembles the inspections situation in Iraq, and, similarly, can take years before being concluded. 2. Any significant discoveries about war crimes by Western politicians and aid agencies will benefit the Russian Government. Like its Communist predecessors, the Russian Government will condemn any such crimes and set-up a cosmetic international court to try �indicted� war criminals. This will help abort any plans to diplomatically isolate Russia and will open the door for more international aid for the supposed �rebuilding of Chechnya.� It will also help finance Russian aggression, not the rebuilding of Chechnya. Of course, any compensation demanded rightfully by the citizens of Chechnya will be easily ignored; this is in stark contrast with the international communities determination to compensate Jewish victims of the holocaust and the determination to fleece Iraq to compensate victims of the war in Kuwait. Truly, compensation and justice are reserved for everyone but the Muslims. 3. There are no longer any reports about the true situation on the battlefield. The occasional reports of Russian defeats usually come as a result of internal bickering between the Russian Ministries of Defence and Interior. Otherwise, the Russians now have a free hand in claiming to have scored great victories. They even claim to be withdrawing units from Chechnya. The Mujahideen know the truth, however, and recognize that for every battalion withdrawn from Chechnya, two new ones are deployed. 4. The Russian public has been drugged into believing that victory has been achieved. The Russians believe that Western criticism of the humanitarian situation is just a result of the supposed victory of the Russian Military. 5. Republics within the Russian Federation that may be considering independence from Russia now feel that any such plans would be dangerous and detrimental to the well-being of their people. The republics recognize that Russia is willing to use barbaric behaviour and to cause mass destruction against any country that opposes Russian occupation. The republics also recognize that the West is not interested in supporting their right to self determination, and that it will only issue a few hollow statements about secondary matters. It is clear that the West and much of the Western press are supporting Russia�s campaign of extermination in Chechnya. The Russian campaign of disinformation is so self-contradictory, it is clear to any objective person that most Russian claims are untrue. Yet, despite the impossibility of Russian statements, the West continues to turn a blind eye to Chechnya�s right to self-determination and to focus on hollow support for the refugees. The West�s complicity in this genocide is clear and unmistakable. And, while the Chechen people hope for some form of international aid to come to them, the secular Arab media chooses to report false claims of victory and to interview Russian politicians and officers rather than Mujahideen sources. Had the Arab media been honest and vigilant, it would have identified the contradictory nature of Russian claims, however, this media has opted to maintain personal gain and has blinded itself to the truth at the expense of the Muslims in Chechnya. What can be more blind than the delegation sent by the European Commission for Human Rights (ECHR) to Chechnya? The head of the delegation, Alvaro Gilles Rubles, announced that �Russia had made great strides in its humanitarian position, and I cannot find evidence of war crimes that indict the Russian Military.� Ironically, this statement was made from amidst the rubble of Grozny � was the destruction of each and every house and building in the city not sufficient evidence for the commission? Due to this complicit support, Russia decided to open its doors to more �humanitarian� missions. These missions, however, only prove to be cheerleading parties for Russia and its cowardly aggression against Chechnya. The United Nations envoy to Chechnya, Mary Robinson, did not fare much better that her ECHR predecessor. Robinson is reported to have said that she would make inquiries into allegations of random bombardment of towns and villages, in addition to other alleged war crimes. Is it not plain to see from the widespread destruction in nearly every urban centre in Chechnya that the Russians used indiscriminate bombing of the country. If Russian bombing was so accurate, why where thousands of civilians killed or wounded, why was every road, bridge and building destroyed? Robinson�s mission has proved to be shallow � any inquiry into human right violations would have to go through a lengthy and bureaucratic legal process, and Muslim experience with Serb generals proves that, at best, only a handful of soldiers, if any, will ever stand trial for their crimes against humanity. Finally, we urge our brothers in the Islamic World to understand and join in our struggle against the aggression from Allah�s enemies. We urge you to take a position that springs from your faith in Islam and the principles of Islam. Whatever the West does or says will always be against the Muslims. Do not be fooled by the West�s support for the Muslims in the Balkans, that was done to fulfil the interests of the West � even then, their support came only after countless Muslims were mercilessly slaughtered. We also call upon all of our brothers who work in the media not to rely on Russian Government claims for information. What hurts us most is seeing the reports of our enemies being published by our own brothers who work in the Arab and Islamic media. We are hurt when our own brothers describe us as �extremists� �armed gunmen� or �rebels.� Where are your Islamic principles? Do you not see the folly in reporting the deliberate lies of the enemy? If you feel that the war in Chechnya is an important issue and that you must report on it, make sure you have authentic and truthful sources � if you cannot find them, do not take the easy way out by reporting the lies of the enemy. If you cannot find authentic sources to quote, then do not report anything to begin with. Rather, you should follow the teaching of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, who said: �Whosoever has faith in Allah and the day of judgment, let him speak goodness, otherwise, let him be silent.� We remind you not to take on the responsibility of supporting
the enemies of Allah, and to avoid the terrible sin of taking the unbelievers
as friends and protectors: We remind you that this advice is for the most valuable thing you own, which is your faith, with this in mind, how can you justify reporting the lies of the Russians and their false claims of victory over the Muslims? We also remind you that the war in Chechnya is a war between Islam and Kufr (unbelief). By Allah, the only reason they are attacking Chechnya is because they realized that Chechnya was reinvigorating the faith and practice of Muslims in the Caucasus. The Russians, with overt and covert Western support, is fighting to stem the tide of Islam in the region, they will fail Insha-Allah. What shocks us however, is the fact that this war is being waged not only by the Russians with Western support, but also by the Arab and Islamic media who view the condemnation of the Mujahideen as proof of �Islamic moderation.� Are the Muslims who work in this media not proud of their religion, do they not see the light of truth to which they have pledged themselves as Muslims? As Allah the All Mighty says (of the like): �Indeed your Lord is Watchful..� and that � Soon the people who oppress will know as to which destination they will be returning to.� Peace and Blessings be upon the Prophet, his family and his companions.
Thursday 06 April 2000 Mujahideen Attack Russian Convoy Near Argun The Mujahideen have launched a successful attack against a Russian armoured convoy that was traveling between the towns of Argun and Gudermes. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen destroyed several armoured vehicles and heavy supply/transport trucks in the attack. Although no specific body count is available, the Mujahideen report heavy losses among the ranks of the doomed Russian column. During the fighting, Russian troops were heard issuing panicked statements and disoriented pleas over radio waves. It is important to note that Gudermes and Argun are Chechnya�s second and third largest towns respectively.(See map) The Russian Military has often claimed that both areas were cleared of Mujahideen presence. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen destroyed several Russian units and temporarily reoccupied both towns during the Eid Al Fitr holiday about three months ago. (See 09/01 news) Wednesday�s offensive against the Russian column and Tuesday�s attack in Grozny (See 05/04 news) also prove the Mujahideen can strike whenever and wherever they choose. By the Will of Allah, all the Mujahideen will continue with their successful war of attrition against the enemy and will cleanse all of Chechnya from the yoke of Russian occupation.
Thursday 06 April 2000 Putin: One Judgement is Executed, More Judgements to Come! All Praise be to Allah Most High, the Mujahideen fulfilled their pledge to execute nine Russian prisoners after the deadline set by the Mujahideen for the handing over of the war criminal Budonov was ignored by Russia. The execution is a message to the Russian Government that the Mujahideen will not sit back idly if war criminals like Budonov are not surrendered to the Mujahideen to face justice. The Mujahideen pledge to send more messages to Moscow in order to inform those who are �thick-headed� in the Russian Government that they stand to lose many more of their soldiers if Mujahideen demands are not fulfilled. The Mujahideen will use all means sanctioned by the Shariah of Allah to ensure the protection of Muslims, their rights and their property. It is important to note that the Russian Government has characteristically attempted to avoid responsibility for the executions in order to protect Budonov and his crime; the Russians have announced that they detected a radio conversation between the Mujahideen in which Commander Khattab is alleged to have ordered the execution of the prisoners on Sunday, March 27. The Mujahideen and all other reasonably minded individual recognize that no such conversation ever existed, and that had it indeed been true, the Russians would have used such a �statement� to promote their own cause and to discredit the Mujahideen. By making such false allegations, the Russian Government is trying to avoid responsibility for the execution of the nine prisoners, and is using this false allegation to convince the families of the nine prisoners that there was nothing the Russian Government could do in order to protect the nine prisoners. The Mujahideen ask the Russian Government: you may make such false allegations now, but what excuse will you give when the Mujahideen provide you with another list and another deadline for exchanging prisoners for known war criminals? Think quickly Russia, for our next decision is near � what will you tell the world then?
Wednesday 05 April 2000 Nine Omon Prisoners Executed at 0500 GMT Today The Commanders of the Mujahideen announced today that nine Russian prisoners of war were executed at 8:00 a.m. this morning. The nine prisoners who were executed were members of an OMON special police unit that was wiped out after being caught marauding in the village of Zhan-Vedeno last week (See 03/04 news) The execution of the nine prisoners comes as a reprisal for the murder-rape and mutilation of a young Chechen girl by the war criminal, Colonel Budonov. The Mujahideen demanded that the war criminal be handed over, or the nine soldiers would be executed. (See first and second announcements) The Russian Government opted to protect Budonov and the crime he committed, and has now suffered the consequences. The Mujahideen command have warned that more prisoners may be executed if the Russian Government stubbornly sticks to its position of protecting war criminals. More details, documents and photographs will be posted soon about the execution of the OMON troops. Wednesday 05 April 2000 The Heat of Battle Set to Rise With the Advent of Summer Mujahideen Attack Russian Positions in Grozny The Mujahideen launched an attack on Tuesday against Russian positions in Grozny. Mujahideen sources confirm that heavy fighting raged between Mujahideen units and enemy forces for three hours in the Zvad-Askoi District of the Capital. By the Grace of Allah Most High, Russian units quickly broke apart and fled the battlefield. Stunned by this defeat and by the lightning strike of the Mujahideen in the city, the Russian Military resorted to the use of air and artillery bombardment of Mujahideen positions � but it was too little too late as the Mujahideen withdrew to their original positions at the right time. Mujahideen sources confirm that severe losses were sustained by the enemy, but no specific tally of casualties could be pinpointed at this time. By the Grace of Allah, the Mujahideen suffered no casualties. The attack of Grozny reconfirms the Mujahideen�s ability to strike hard at Russian positions at any time and at any place across Chechnya. Moreover, the Mujahideen leadership pledged on Tuesday morning to attack Russian positions in urban areas; by the Will of Allah, this pledge was fulfilled only hours after it was made when the Mujahideen battered Russian forces in Zvad-Askoi on Tuesday afternoon. Insha-Allah, this will be the first of a broad offensive against enemy units in Chechen cities and elsewhere across the country. Russia Mourns the Death of More Officers The Mujahideen tracked down and killed three officers from the Russian Intelligence Services on Tuesday. The corpses of the three officers were quickly sent to Moscow for burial. Putin the Loser attended this latest mass funeral of Russian soldiers that has become a feature of daily life in Russia. The Mujahideen have taught Russia a lesson that the flow of corpses from Chechnya to Russia will continue unless Russia surrenders and withdraws its forces from the Islamic republic. Truly, the Will of Allah is unhindered, yet only a few people choose to see this. Saga of Internal Bickering Amongst Russian Leadership Continues The Russian Ministry of Interior (which commands OMON and other internal security services) has demanded that the Ministry of Defence verify its announcements that Mujahideen formations have been broken up into small and ineffective bands of renegade fighters. The Ministry of Interior has been infuriated by the fact that it has fallen victim to repeated lies by the Russian Ministry of Defence � the latter routinely claims that it has �cleansed� areas from Mujahideen presence, only to see the internal security units (OMON) wiped out within days and sometimes within hours of such claims. Indeed the Russian Military�s art of lying is so sophisticated that Russian troops are dying as a result. The Ministry of Defence has denied responsibility for the disasters befalling Russian forces in Chechnya and has blamed the Ministry of Interior for incompetence and mismanagement. It has also challenged OMON to �cleanse� areas that are believed to shelter the Mujahideen: it is ironic that the various factions of the Russian Military are challenging each other over �cleansing� operations that all factions recognize will never be achieved. Putin Under the Spotlight After Mother�s Confession Russian media and opposition political parties are making the most of scandalous statements made by Putin�s Mother who admitted that the new President of Russian is a illegitimate child. Putin�s mother admitted that she had an extra-marital affair with a man from the Ural region in Siberia, and that �Putin� was born as a result of this relationship. The woman later married a Georgian man who demanded that �Putin� be placed in an orphanage. The mother agreed, and the �bastard� was placed in an orphanage in Leningrad. He was then adopted by a man of Russian descent, and was raised according to strict Communist Party guidelines. This was common in Communist Russia where the Government made sure that all orphans were raised to love their one and only family, the state, and to serve the objectives of the Government with unquestioned loyalty. Today, the objectives of the Russian Government are to stay in power and to fleece Russia of its wealth; true to his upbringing, Putin is working diligently to realize these goals. The only saviours for the Russian nation are Allah and His warriors whose victories in Chechnya might open the eyes of the Russian people to the true meanings of faith, freedom and justice.
Tuesday 04 April 2000 Final Announcement With Regards to the War Criminal Yuri Budanov This afternoon, the Commanders of the Mujahideen announced for the last time their demand to have the Russian war criminal Yuri Budanov handed over to the Mujahideen. If the war criminal is not handed over to the Mujahideen, nine Russian prisoners will be decapitated by the sword tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. (April 5, 2000 - 30 Dhul-Hijja, 1420) The names of the nine Russian soldiers who will be executed are listed herewith: (Please note that spellings in Russian have been extrapolated from the Arabic version and hence are not spelt entirely accurately- editor) 1. Lieutenant Murozuv Valarivich The Mujahideen leadership has also announced that if the Russian war criminal is not handed over after the nine prisoners are executed, then more Russian prisoners will be executed until the criminal is handed over to the Mujahideen. If Russia stubbornly decides to protect this cowardly criminal and to protect his heinous crime, then Russia will suffer the loss of a large number of its soldiers who have fallen captive to the Mujahideen. The Mujahideen recognize that many Russian soldiers and officers are committing horrible crimes against the Chechen people; from now on, the Mujahideen will face this by dealing with each and every war criminal in the same way as they are dealing with the coward Budonov.
Tuesday 04 April 2000 Russian Military Aims to Raise Morale by 'Replicating' Mujahideen Tactics Shaken by a string of severe defeats and disillusioned by the success of the Mujahideen in dominating the battlefield, the Russian Military has announced plans to deploy special commando units that will replicate the tactics used by the Mujahideen. The Russian Military announced that the new commando units have been expertly trained in guerilla warfare and that they would be put into action shortly. The Mujahideen recognize this claim as a vain attempt by the Russian Military to raise the morale of its troops and to rejuvenate its operations in Chechnya. The Mujahideen also confirm that no "special guerilla-warfare units" exist in the Russian Military. If they did exist, they would have been deployed early in the war, particularly during the military operations that led to the defeat of the Russian Military in Grozny, and during the ongoing operations in southern Chechnya. The Mujahideen are confident that by the Will of Allah Most High, that they are capable of overcoming any attempt at a challenge posed to them by the Russian Military. The Mujahideen remind Russia that "Desnat" "OMON" "Special Air Service" "Marine Infantry" and other so-called elite units were battered and severely defeated at nearly every occasion during the past few months. Any 'new special unit' that may or may not exist will meet the same dark fate as its predecessors, Insha-Allah. Mujahideen Prepare to Launch Renewed Strikes Against Russian Urban Fortifications As part of the overall effort to cleanse Chechnya from the yoke of Russian aggression, the Mujahideen have confirmed that they are preparing to launch renewed strikes against enemy fortifications in Chechen cities and urban areas. Mujahideen sources confirm that the upcoming attacks will target Russian fortifications in Gudermes, Urus-Martan, Alkhan Kala and other populated centers, which are currently under temporary Russian occupation. The attacks will demonstrate the unhindered capability of the Mujahideen to strike hard at Russian positions at any time and any place across Chechnya. They will also disprove Russian claims that new special guerilla warfare units are being deployed in the Islamic republic. Russia Launches Terror Campaign in Dagestan The Russian Government has launched a media campaign that aims at terrorizing the Muslim population of Dagestan. The Russians have claimed that their forces are on high alert and tracking Mujahideen preparations for an imminent offensive into Dagestan. Mujahideen sources have belied Russian claims and have confirmed that the enemy is hoping to rally those who are weak and fearful of war to its side. The campaign also aims at discrediting the Mujahideen and eroding Dagestan's support for the Mujahideen. By the Will of Allah, this ploy will not succeed, and the 1,500 Dagestani Mujahideen fighting in Chechnya will be among the first to prove the brotherhood and unity among all Muslims of the Caucasus.
Monday 03 April 2000 Announcement from Commanders Khattab and Basayev Commanders Shamil Basayev and Khattab have announced that nine OMON Special Police, who were captured a few days ago, will be executed unless the Russian Army hands over a Russian officer who committed a rape-murder of a young Chechen girl. The Russian war criminal, who serves as an officer in a Russian tank unit, raped the young Chechen girl and strangled her to death before placing her under the wheels of his tank and crushing her young body. The crime was committed in full view of the soldiers of the Russian tank unit. The brother of the murdered sister is a member of the Mujahideen, and he will personally kill all nine OMON prisoners unless the Russian war criminal is handed over. Moreover, if the surrender of the officer is not forthcoming, the Mujahideen will hunt him down wherever he may be. Field Commander Shamil Basayev
Monday 03 April 2000 Mujahideen Belie Russian Claims by Destroying Russian Units The Russian political and military leadership has continued to claim that 'the situation in Chechnya is calm and under control'. The Mujahideen have made clear the fallacy of these statements by wiping out several units of elite OMON Special Police during the past few weeks. On Saturday, the Mujahideen wiped out another OMON unit in one of the villages of Southern Chechnya, just hours after Putin the Loser announced that "there no longer was any serious resistance to the Russian Military in Chechnya." Details of the Operation A reconnaissance unit of the Mujahideen (3-5 men) led by Field Commander Abul-Waleed Al-Ansari halted for a temporary rest in the abandoned village of Zhan-Vedeno. The unit decided to take shelter in one of the village's houses before continuing with their mission. During this time, the Mujahideen lit a small fire to keep themselves warm - no precautions were taken as there was no Russian Military presence in the area. Unexpectedly, a marauding unit of Russian OMON Special Police approached the area. (Not for combat reasons, but because they thought the village had only a few civilian inhabitants who could be targeted for ransom or rape.) The OMON unit had four armoured vehicles, two trucks and 45 soldiers and officers in its ranks. As the OMON unit came closer to the village, the unit's commanding officer spotted the smoke rising from the fireplace used by the Mujahideen. The officer organised a siege of the house from all directions, with the exception of a path leading to a nearby forest. He then approached the house, drew his pistol and ordered: "Those in the house must exit immediately! " This alerted the Mujahideen who did not detect the approach of the Russian unit. Abul-Waleed glanced out of the window and realised that the Mujahideen were outnumbered 10:1 in number and about 30:1 in firepower (the Russians had four armoured vehicles). Abul-Waleed maintained the discipline of his unit, and did not inform them about the size of the besieging forces. He then spoke out in Russian to fool the Russian officer and to make him think that the occupants of the house were scared. He said: "If we come out, will you hurt us?" The OMON officer said: "No, we will not hurt you." Emboldened by what he felt was the upper hand, the officer demanded that the house be evacuated immediately or he would storm it at the count of three. He began counting� The officer counted one, two� � At the count of three, Abul-Waleed opened the door and killed the Russian officer with a burst of machine gun fire. He then took the officer's pistol, shut the door and ordered his men to escape from the windows. The Russian unit was confused and in disarray - they had come to pillage, and in just a few moments lost their leader and realised that they were now face to face with the Mujahideen. The Mujahideen managed to escape into the nearby forest despite a hail of Russian fire, Abul-Waleed sustained a minor wound in his hip. During this time, Field Commander Khattab learned that the small Mujahideen reconnaissance unit had been surrounded and was under fire. Khattab quickly led his force to the village and outflanked the unassuming OMON unit. A few minutes later the Mujahideen attacked the enemy and wiped out the entire unit, destroying all four armoured vehicles, and both trucks. 36 enemy troops were killed; the remaining nine were captured and they currently face execution. The Mujahideen also captured all of the doomed unit's light and medium weapons, and burnt the undamaged vehicles as they are of little use to the Mujahideen in the mountainous regions. After the battle, the Mujahideen began returning to their positions in the surrounding mountains. They were suddenly attacked by a squadron of enemy attack helicopters. A ground force of enemy reinforcements was also detected as it approached the abandoned village. By the Grace of Allah Most High, the Mujahideen used their expert marksmanship and the heavy foliage of the nearby forests to avoid enemy fire and to force back the Russian forces. Mujahideen sources confirm that one helicopter was damaged and made a forced landing. One truck and an armoured personnel carrier from the relieving ground force were also destroyed. Russian forces have failed to move into the abandoned village, and the Mujahideen are watching their every move from the mountain tops and forests. Russian Leadership At Odds With Each Other Intense bickering has erupted once again between the Ministry of Interior (that commands OMON units, internal police, internal security etc.) and the Ministry of Defence (Army, Navy, Air Force etc.) The Minister of Interior has accused his counterparts in the Russian Army of lying about the extent of Russian Military achievements in Chechnya, and of concealing the truth about the strength of the Mujahideen. According to the Minister of Interior, this litany of lies has led to massive casualties among OMON Special Police units during the past few weeks. The Minister of Interior is blaming the Army for these losses, claiming that OMON's duty is to police areas that are 'cleansed' of regular military formations, not to engage in large-scale combat activity. He claims large-scale operations are the responsibility of Special Desnat units (many of which were wiped out in the early stages of winter), armoured formations and army corps. The Russian Army replied to these accusations by accusing OMON leadership of poor performance and incompetence. Both sides do not recognise that the Mujahideen do not care about the cool names and fancy titles of Russian forces - whatever units the enemy deploys in the field will eventually be annihilated by the soldiers of Allah. Putin Calls for Negotiations - Again Putin the Loser has approached the Chechen leadership with a new offer for peace negotiations. President Maskhadov has summarily refused this offer, and has reiterated that no negotiations would take place before the withdrawal of all Russian forces from Chechnya. The President of Ingushetia announced the offer and revealed that he was asked by Putin to act as a mediator in any negotiations. Despite this public announcement, Putin refused to acknowledge it to the media. Any public perusal of negotiations would reveal the increasingly hopeless situation of Russian forces in Chechnya, and turn Putin's popularity into disgrace. The latest offer of negotiations also shows Russia's desperation to find a way out of the war in Chechnya - Insha-Allah, the Mujahideen will make that easy for them, but in the Mujahideen's own way, and by the terms of the Shariah of Allah. Mercenaries Flee Chechnya Most mercenaries serving the Russian Military are fleeing the battlefield and leaving Chechnya. The mercenaries who came from across Russia believed the Mujahideen were weak and small in number. They also believed that they would earn some easy money following a quick victory. None of their hopes were realised - after a string of massive defeats and humiliations, as well as being relegated to the role of acting out "surrender of Chechen fighters" for international media, many of the mercenaries have decided to return home. The mercenaries who are still alive will return to their homes in humiliation and defeat, without having been paid one rouble for their 'noble sacrifice.' |
