Jakim bans nine books

JOHOR BARU: The censorship committee of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has banned nine books on Islam.

The books include Al-Audah Ila Al-Quran Iadah Taqyim Al-Hadis by Kasim Ahmad.

Committee chairman Datuk Seri Harussani Zakaria, who is also the Perak Mufti, said the books were either insulting or questioned the teachings of Islam or simply frivolous.

The other books include Hakikat Lafaz A.L.L.A.H by Muhyiddin Ibnu Arabi, Petua Bani Tamin Merintis Jalan Imam Mahadi by Abu Muhammad Atta, Petua Dan Doa Pendinding, Penawar, Penyembuh Penyakit by Awang Mohd Yahya, MiniSkirt Mothers & Muslim by Christine Mallouhi, Hakikat & Hikmah 7 Hari Dalam Seminggu by Abu Nashr Al Hamdaniy, Permata Kisah Teladan Umat by K.H. Abdullah Zaky Al-Kaaf and Drs Maman Abdul Djaliel, Sejarah Tuhan Kisah Pencarian Tuhan Yang Dilakukan Oleh Orang-Orang Kristen dan Islam Selama 4,000 Tahun by Karen Armstrong, Jemaat Yang Mengalami Terobosan Strategi-Strategi Apostolic by Dr Jonathan David. — Bernama
