Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that HAPI 0.6 beta-1 has been uploaded to the
Sourceforge site.

This release features quite a bit of new stuff, including new examples on
the website, a bunch of bugfixes, and most importantly, long overdue support
for HL7 v2.5.1 and v2.6. (For this I would like to thank Frank Oemig and
Karen Van Hentenryck for their help in getting me an updated version of the
HL7 DB!)

I'd like to stress that this is *not a production-ready release*, it has
barely been tested. I am more looking for feedback and letting people test
to make sure nothing breaks. I'm anticipating a final release in early May.

One big thing that has changed is that I've moved from one monolithic JAR to
several smaller ones: a base JAR and then one for each message library
version, so you will now need to include several JARs on your classpath. If
anyone has thoughts around this, please feel free to comment.

A second major change is that a new sub-project has been created in the CVS
repo: "hapi-mvn". If you are building HAPI yourself, a new build system is
being used, so you will have to check out the new tree into your IDE and set
it up. Details are available on the site, under "Hacking HAPI".

All the details for this pre-release are available on our website:
http://hl7api.sourceforge.net/index.html

Cheers,
James Agnew
