Hello,

which version of HL7 are u using?
Anyway, if you use the 2.5 PID is child of PATIENT_RESULT.PATIENT, and 
not directly on the same level as MSH.
Also in HL7.
It was the same in the 2.4, 2.3.1.
In the 2.3 it was child of RESPONSE.PATIENT.
