regarding your issue: there was a bug (
http://sourceforge.net/p/hl7api/bugs/97/) that was fixed for 2.0.

The release change logs (http://hl7api.sourceforge.net/changes-report.html)
are a good source of information about minor changes in the message
structures or the APIs (i.e. parsers, validators etc.). We always try to
keep things as stable as possible, but be aware that deprecated classes and
methods may actually disappear in one of the next versions.
