I can confirm the batch support would be useful. Many of our hospital partners still want to work with basic batch files, especially for billing and accountability interfaces. We do prefer socket-based, real-time interfaces but it is not always possible. For the moment, we append several HL7 messages in one batch file, without the special header/trailer segments due to the lack of support.
