Beats me, but it's easy enough to find out -- just feed the file in and
see what you get :-)

Well I mean using the Batch Protocol where you have :
[FHS] (file header segment)
[BHS] (batch header segment)
(zero or more HL7 messages)
[BTS] (batch trailer segment)
[FTS] (file trailer segment)

WIll the HL7InputStreamReder read a file like this?

The static Hl7InputStreamReader.read() method will do the same,
won't it?

You mean if there's more than one message in a file?

I have a ReadMessage() function that pulls one message at a time
out of the file and returns an array of strings. I just read segments
until I reach the end of the file or I hit an MSH header.

It appears as if there is no batch support in hapi. Or am I
missing this?
If this is the case, what are people commonly doing to handle
batch files?

Does anyone have an example showing how to perform basic
validation of messages?

        thanks
