Hi Jon,
It's possible to build the core library (hapi-base) as well as the unit
tests and example code on OSX. The structures JARs which are built from the
official HL7 DB unfortunately require a 32 bit Windows because of the
dependency you pointed out.
For what it's worth, the official HAPI builds are all built on OSX, with
the structures JARs being built in a WinXP VM under VirtualBox.
I started a project at one point to convert the build to use MySQL instead
of Access/ODBC for the database layer, but ended up running out of time. If
anyone is good with SQL and has a copy of the HL7 DB (I can't provide
that), help would be most welcome.
