Outlining the paths of using MLLP over HTTP IMHO boils down to the following
- The 'Simple proposal 'only' using HTTP for transport and security and
nothing else and not mixing HTTP response codes and HL7 response codes and
so forth
- The 'Mix proposal' which evidently mixed HTTP and MLLP with status codes
and addressing.
Both solutions are of course technically possible but IMHO the 'Mix
proposal' requires longer time to adapt because it more or less ends up in
a awkward form of HTTP.
The 'Simple proposal' is easy to understand and does not mix the protocols
in any way. It is clean in its design and is easy to adapt.
