Yes, it's definitely time for an update! In general it's pretty safe to update as we are pretty reluctant with backwards-incompatible changes. A couple of things have been deprecated and finally removed, but the core of the API has not changed much since then. One notable thing is that the HL7 version's structures have been distributed into their own jars, respectively.
