Back in 2013 I posted a question regarding unescaped escape characters. The
thread can be seen here:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.medical.hl7/1402/match=backslash

At the time it was a minor issue that wasn't really bothering us. Unfortunately
a recent requirement to receive a message containing a DOS file path has
arisen, and the vendor (AGFA) has flatly refused to escape the file path they
provide in the message.

We had been using a technique whereby we added our own implementation of the
package and method in an effort to get our version to be used, but our
continuous build environment has not been kind enough to reliably get our
implementation on the classpath first.

In the thread Christian commented that a pluggable methodology may be applied
in Hapi 2.2 did this occur? We are using 2.2 now, but it's not clear that such
a facility has been added.

Any advice on what we can do would be appreciated.

Many thanks
Ian
