If you are using a hardware router, souch as the Linksys BEFSR41/BEFSR11/BEFSRU31, you can set an internal ip to be the 'DMZ' or 'DeMilitarizedZone' which allows you to host servers, it basically exposes the DMZ to the actual ip.
