I'm pretty sure its not the list's fault. I get the valve
lists sent directly to a local machine running sendmail..
stuff comes in in the right order. Blame whoever runs your
ISP mail servers, I'd say.

email headers do have a chain of "Received" fields.. you
could always just sort according to a timestamp that
is more reliable than your ISP's (ie the one given to a
message by the valvesoftware.com server).. probably
better yet is to ask your ISP how exactly they manage
the feat of getting mails into your mailbox in an order
other than that which they arrive in.

check the full headers and you should be able to determine
who is really at fault here.
