after many months of not coding for HL for a bit i finaly desided to get back into it, as i've reinstalled my system a few times recently I had to reinstall HL, that went fine, patched to 1.1.1.0, configured it all up (openGL, 1024*768), started a LAN game of our mod and it started up, only to hang at 'InitHUD()'... turns out if its left for a while (more than 5mins) it does start the network game and then locks the system up :o Playing the SP game however works fine...
I uninstalled and then reinstalled, tried the above without patching and it works fine, both SP and MP modes. Since i last played I've changed my sound card to an Auligy2 and my video card to an Radeon9700Pro running the CAT3.0 drivers. (I'm on win2K, sp2) I'd blame it on my VIA Chipset conflicting with stuff, but as it works before hand i dunno... :o Any ideas as to why the 1.1.1.0 patch would knacker things like that? or any ideas as to how I could track the problem down to one place?
