What I do I simply step through every file and re-read what either I or others ha done, and look to see if it's optimized or not. It's a bit time consuming, but it usually turns out good. I also find that I tend to go back to something I wrote a few months earlier and scratch my head and exclaim "What the f$#@ was I thinking??" and re-write it more efficiently with new knowledge I've gained. Those moments are quite enjoyable =)
It's really just a matter of spending time and going through each file. If there is any other, easier, less time consuming ways (besides getting someone else to do it ;)) I'd love to hear them too. -omega http://www.frontline2.com -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Cale 'Mazor' Dunlap Sent: September 18, 2003 2:47 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlcoders] Finding Redundant Code & Unused Variables This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] This doesn't really relate to HL at all, but is there something I can use to locate redundant code and unused variables quickly? -Cale -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
