Except for the banning part, I know the problem. We had a server that was a bit tight on RAM. This made the mapswitches really slow. The client times out after a minute or so, while the server is loading the map. This might be happening in your case too.

I open the console and all it says as far as you can scroll up is 'Youve been banned from this server.' Does anyone know what is causing this? Or heard of this happening?
